"Full Service Roofing did an excellent job!! They performed their services in a very efficient time frame and were very neat and cleaned up after they were finished. We had a hard time finding someone to quote this roof replacement because of the steep pitch and we were replacing a shake shingle roof. Full Service Roofing did not hesitate and gave us several options for our replacement. We could not be more pleased!!! We would highly recommend them."

"We were looking to get 8 windows and a sliding patio door replaced in conjunction with new siding. We received our quote directly from Ryan Dewey, Owner, of Ryan Renovations. It was much appreciated to have the owner come and provide the estimate directly. Ryan was very thorough with his estimate and answered all of our questions completely. Ryan brought a sample of the window that he uses for his jobs. Ryan demonstrated the use of the window and this provided us with the opportunity to really have the full knowledge that we needed to make our decision. Ryan did not pressure us into making our decision and gave us ample time to discuss our decision (we had already received a few other quotes at this time). Ultimately, we decided to give Ryan our business as we were impressed with his overall presentation and the product that he uses. We also hired Ryan for our new siding which is in a separate review under the siding section.
The windows are custom sized and it took a few weeks for the windows to be made. Once made, Ryan's window crew contacted us and set up a time that worked for us. The entire installation was complete in one day. The work was very professional and the quality was exceptional. The windows were installed without any issue and our interior trim remained in place and untouched. The entire process was incredibly smooth. The crew made sure to clean up after itself and we did not see any evidence of them walking around the house.
Overall we are incredibly pleased with our new windows and sliding door and found the process to be painless and enjoyable. We would definitely recommend Ryan Renovations to anyone looking to have windows and/or a sliding door replaced."

"Great, experienced, friendly crew. Came early, worked late in hot weather. Paid close attention to the details on a multisurface roof on 1800s house. Took care not to harm landscaping and did great cleanup at the end of each day. Stuck by the original and lowest estimate and delivered as scheduled. Guaranteed not to leak. Would definitely recommend Jack's roofing."

"Work was done in a day to my satisfaction. they missed cutting off a shingle on the end as it was left hanging so had to go on the roof and cut it myself. Other than that, everything was fine, and even that was not a huge deal to me."

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"During the January ice storm, I had damage to my roof and gutters. When the insurance adjuster came and told of the damage, I called Baine Roofing and someone came and made the temporary repair to the roof THAT DAY so that there would not be a leak after the limb was removed. Within a week and a half, not only was the roof repaired, but new gutters were also added. I have used Baine Roofing before, and I find them to honest, courteous, efficient, and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend them for any of your roofing needs."

"We were very pleased with the person that gave us the estimate. He was very professional. We also contacted them as my husband was not sure of the color. There representative was very good and made a suggestion. The color of the helmet matches really good with the roof color. They cleaned the gutters before installing the helmet. They cleaned up after the install. The product seems to be working like it should."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Buckingham, IL

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
