"I had a disappointing experience with Mister Sparky. During the service, the technician installed a breaker in my panel that clearly specifies only Eaton breakers should be used. That raised immediate concerns about attention to manufacturer requirements and code compliance. I also experienced significant issues with an automated lighting system. Multiple technicians were sent out, and I was repeatedly told the problems were related to my new construction home rather than the work performed. After ongoing troubleshooting and no resolution, the entire lighting system was ultimately removed. This was a frustrating and costly experience. While this occurred nearly four years ago, it left a lasting impression. I?m not sure why Angi is requesting a review now, but based on my experience, I would not recommend this company."

"The plan was established; but it ran over the amount by the time the job was finished on the previous house. On the second, lighting needs were not as extensive and the budget was maintained. In both cases, the outcomes were beyond expectations as they were subtle and non-obtrusive to the neighbors."

"The Smart Home features they installed, such as thermostat and door locks, etc. do not always work. For example, the Honeywell thermostat can no longer be operated from our phones and is difficult to install. Remote door locks are also unpredictable."

"called me and arrived before scheduled appt.. worked out great for me . replaced two sprinklers and checked that all the sprinklers and put the correct time on the controller...He also checked that each sprinkler were providing adequate coverage to the areas they were suppose to..I have used this company for about 15 years .will definitely call him again .."

"Extremely well. Brian went way beyond the scope of what I expected. He is knowledgeable and friendly. I had called another well driller to ask what it would cost to drop a new well and he quoted me a price. I call Blackwelder's (Brian) and asked the same thing... he quoted me a price but then said, "but before we do that we should..." Long story short. He saved my existing well did a bunch of pressure checking and parts replacement. When I got the bill I was amazed I thought it was going to be double that amount! Bottom line he saved my well, saved me money and educated me on several points at the same time. What a great experience."

"I sent in an approved work order to replace 5 fluorescent fixtures with LEDs, add one additional 3 foot fixture, and add a junction box. Finally, after 2 weeks of waiting and unanswered emails sent to Rodney Foust, the estimator, asking for status, they finally showed up to complete the work - at 10 am for an 8 am appointment. They had none of the 5 fixtures supposedly ordered for my work. I agreed to a time and materials alternative - replacing the ballasts instead of new fixtures since they would have to "reorder" the fixtures. They arrived at 10 am and completed the work slightly before 12. I was charged for 3 hours at $115 per hour for 2 hours of actual work - a total "time" cost of $345. Apparently an hour of drive time was charged. Materials totaled $469 including $100 for 5 ballasts (the only price they would share). So we paid $369 for (1) a 3 foot fixture, (2) 10 4-foot LED bulbs, and (3) a junction box - "material" costs only I paid the workers, but later called and left a voice message for Eric (a supervisor?) asking for a breakdown of the materials. Eric has elected to ignore my call. The work performed seems fine. However, I would have expected Giles to be more interested in communicating with their customers. The estimator would not answer emails regarding status. The workers would not provide materials costs. The supervisor does not respond to calls. I elected to go with Giles as they received a high recommendation from a local lighting store (Wholesale Lighting). I will be sure to pass my experience in working with Giles along to them so they can advise their customers appropriately. My advice . . . . lots of electrician options in Port Orange. Do not include Giles in your search."
