Rutland Turf has some very good equipment for their techs to use, and Matt was adept at using the ride-on lawn spreader/sprayer. We're very pleased with his work today! This tree requires periodic trimming to lighten the canopy of the tree so that it is at less risk of damage in high winds, and  to remove any branches that might have become weakened and represent a danger, <br /> Steve and his crew at Arborway always come as planned; or if the weather prevents this, they are scrupulous about calling ahead to let us know of a change in plans.  <br /> Our tree is too tall to reach with a standard boom; the Arborway crew climb the tree themselves and lower cut branches by ropes so as not to damage our picket fence or anything else in the yard. Before they leave, they clean up all detritus. By the time they're gone, there are only a few bits of sawdust scattered here and there; otherwise, you wouldn't know they had been here. <br />"

"We recently purchased a home in Salem and the previous owners had left the lawn in disrepair. The biggest issue was flooding. Our entire lawn (roughly 70X40) would flood, up to a foot deep in places, with any significant rainfall. The neighbors told us it had flooded for years and did not offer us much hope that it could be fixed. We received a series of estimates from other companies. Each wanted to do something extensive, including putting in pumps and hooking them up to the city's drainage system. The prices were way out of our price range. Jack came in and started offering very simple solutions. I was nervous it would not work or we would flood the neighbors but decided we had to try or our young son might need to take up sailing in order to play in our yard. <br /> Jacks crew was great. We only had on 4 foot opening into our yard so they spent nearly a week just hauling the dirt and fill into our yard. They seeded and planted some trees to serve as barriers between us and some unpleasant neighbors. <br /> There has not even been a puddle in the yard since, and none of the neighbors yards took on extra water. I could not be happier. <br /> My two critical comments are relatively minor <br /> 1. They said they would but something over the grass seed, but they did not. <br /> 2. Jack said he would stop by later in the summer when I asked him some questions about upkeep of the trees. He never did. I was very impressed with them up to that point so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming that they got wrapped up in bigger projects over the summer. <br /> The grass and trees did ok, but I didn't really know how to take care of the lawn and I think grubs got it, live and learn. <br /> <br />"

"We are very pleased with the mowing and organic soil treatments.  Organic Soil Solutions is owned by Mike Murphy, who is intelligent and very knowledgeable about the needs of grass and soil.  After each treatment, the worker puts an 8 1/2" x 11" printed sheet in our mailbox detailing what was done and what the purpose of the treatment is.  This helps to educate us as what our grass and soil needs are.  The company believes in "mowing high" so that our grass stays healthy and doesn't get as brown in hot weather.  They mow reliably and come regularly. The yard always looks wonderful when they finish.  Mike has treated some broad-leaf weeds with an organic solution that has helped to kill them. <br /> <br /> The company planted approximately 30 Hicks Yews around the perimeter of our backyard a few years ago.  Because the plants sold to them from a nursery were not healthy (Org. Soil Solutions had an arborist come to look at the roots), they all died.  They were replaced with healthy plants at no cost to us and these plants are doing beautifully. The following year we had more yews planted on another side of our lot and they, too, are doing very well.  They were all planted very neatly, in a very straight line, and in exactly the places we wanted them. <br /> <br /> The snow plowing, just started last year, is going well.  We appreciate having our sidewalks cleared as well as our long driveway free of snow.  They do a fine job at this, in a timely fashion after a snowstorm. <br /> <br /> We have found the responsiveness of Organic Soil Solutions to be especially exemplary.  Mike or his son, James, are easy to reach and they respond to requests and any problems in a very timely fashion.  We find Mike/James easy to get along with and really nice people, as well as being professional and capable in the landscaping business.   <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />"

I watered as per the instructions (honestly should have watered more than I did, but it still did well and was a lot better than what I had). <br /> The picture included was taken in May 2014 as I am on the 2nd year of the premium service. The price has gone up, but only reflected a minor increase and did not include the initial introductory offer. I find the price to be reasonable for the five times they visit and the items performed. If I were to buy the store bought stuff for the amount of times I should fertilize the lawn, it equates to roughly half the cost and I'd still have to apply it. This helps save me the step and makes sure it's done correctly by the pros. <br /> Overall I'm quite satisfied with the results and I have become the envy of our street.
