"G’day folks! My hope in this review is to give you a little ray of positive sunshine in your search process for finding a decent and reliable pool repair and renovation company that is right for you. Let me make it known by saying that I received no form of discounts to write this post process review and in my personal search process of finding this pool company I made no such mention that I would even take the time to write this review after the project was finished. As a rule, I’ve only taken the effort to write about a dozen or so reviews in the past ten or so years on an unknown number of products and services that I’ve purchased throughout those years, regardless of how good or bad that product was. So, for me to even write this review means that I am either totally pleased with the final product or highly dissatisfied with the final product. So again, please take this review kindly to heart as it is only my opinion of their recent finished work on our property working on our pool. I always recommend that you do your homework and research the many companies out there for the one that is right for you, and hope that you choose wisely before deciding for your own family’s personal pool needs. Overall, we had a pleasant pool restoration experience, and we are happy with the final product that my wife chose. A young man by the name of Alexis is the front person for this company who we worked with us throughout the process and answered any questions and concerns that we’ve had with full satisfaction. His positive personality and demeanor easily demonstrated to me that he has been in the business that his family built for quite some time. And in our initial search for this pool company, we sought out four different estimates from other competitors with prices ranging from 8k to 25k for the work that we were looking for and Brothers Pool came in at the midrange price for the work that we asked of them. Originally, we were going to go with a Pebble Tec style design as there are so many options out there just as there are companies to choose from. And most all of them can provide an equal to or at least a very similar product quality and all have a ton of varying prices for that same top quality and pricing demand. In the end we chose a much more affordable aggregate sky-blue color for economic and simplicity reasons. And without giving the exact price I can say that we paid more than our lowest estimate but less than 15k for the finished project. For reference, our gunite pool size is about 15 feet by 30 feet with a shallow end of 3 feet and a deep end of 5-6 feet and the total cubic space of the pool holds about 13,500 gallons of water. Alexis and his crew drained the pool, hydro blasted the walls and pool floor, prepped the walls and fixtures, resurfaced and replastered the pool, changed a pool light and fixtures, regrouted the existing pool tile, and changed the sand in the filter, all before cleaning up reasonably well and refilling the pool. The resurfacing process itself took less than a day and we had to wait about a week for our pool light and the finishing touches. And in the end, we found no flaws other then what had previously existed. We have a 2-year warranty on labor craftsmanship and a 10-year warranty on manufacturing materials. Again, all I can say is do your research, let your needs be known, document everything, get the final contract in writing, and you will be happy with the finished product. If I had one last thing to say I would say to get the existing pool tile completely replaced in the process as I feel that the total thickness of the aggregate is barely thicker than the existing tile. Which in and of itself was less than a half inch. That would probably be my only gripes on a project that I thought they did a great job with. In the end, I believe we chose wisely by selecting Brothers Pools for our pool restoration company and would be happy to work with them in the future if needed. Cheers!"

FAQs for swimming pool remodeling projects in Calabash, NC

You can modernize your pool by adding features like underwater LED lighting, mosaic tiles, or a beach entry for easy access. Incorporating amenities like fire pits, waterfalls, or installing energy-efficient equipment can also give your pool a contemporary upgrade.

To make your pool more energy-efficient, consider resurfacing it with a lighter color to reduce heating needs and evaporation. Installing a variable-speed pump can significantly lower energy consumption. Switching to low-energy LED lights not only saves power but also enhances ambiance. Additionally, updating old plumbing pipes can improve efficiency and reduce water loss.

A pool remodel typically takes between four and eight weeks to complete. The exact duration depends on factors such as the size of your pool, the complexity of the renovations, and the availability of materials and contractors. Planning ahead and coordinating with a professional pool remodeler can help ensure your project stays on schedule.

Remodeling your pool can be a worthwhile investment, especially if you plan to sell your home. A pool remodel can increase your property's value and enhance its appeal to potential buyers. Upgrades like modern finishes, energy-efficient systems, and added features like lighting or fountains can transform an outdated pool into a backyard oasis.

Resurfacing a pool involves applying a new finish to the existing surface to address cosmetic issues and minor structural concerns. Replastering is a more extensive process that replaces a deeper layer of the pool's structural base, impacting both stability and appearance. After replastering, you can choose from various finishes to enhance the design and longevity of your pool.
