"I received a confirmation email soon after purchase and a call within a day or so to make an appointment. There was some question as to whether the Big Deal service would include locating (and pointing out to me) the on/off control for the backyard water, which I requested; the scheduler put a technical person on the line who addressed this fully. The appointment was made for just one week after service purchase date, with a four-hour arrival window.  The two-person irrigation team arrived I think late in the first half of the time frame. They were polite, professional, focused and efficient. They explained what they were going to do and how this fit into the ongoing service the company offers. They explained the entire process in all the detail I could have wanted and answered my somewhat disorganized questions. I explained that I wanted to learn the location of the main water control and the on/off control for water to the backyard sprinkler and spigots and was told I could follow them around or get a walk-through at the end, whatever I wanted. I followed them out and was shown exactly where the curbside water main is (below the meter) and, at my further request, the tool they used to turn it on and off. In the below-ground controls next to my house, I was shown the lever for the backyard water and, at my request, told precisely how to operate it. Travis and Austin were patient and thorough, addressing my concerns. They certainly made a clear sales pitch for ongoing services, which is expected -- that is one of the main purposes of Big Deals. Although I no longer irrigate my lawn in summer for various reasons, I learned how fall winterization could be worth the cost. I am likely to hire ProGrass for this and would not have considered having repeated winterization if I wasn't impressed with this initial service. I like developing continuity in home services -- I have continued with the same arbor service for several years since first hiring them through a Big Deal. If I could suggest any way ProGrass could have improved this service, I would ask for a shorter service window and the offer of a phone call (or text message) when the provider is on the way, with an estimated time of arrival. Overall I am very satisfied.

Lots of good questions, some suggestions, a few smart revisions to original plan, and total agreement when he completed the visit. "The crew arrived and Armando immediately came over to confirm the work desired.   He listened carefully but didn't hesitate to make suggestions and to explain his reasoning.  The crew was efficient and hard working.  They split into sections of the yard and achieved a great deal in 8 man hours.  When they were finished, Armando again came to the door to walk around with me to view their progress and to answer my questions.  I was pleased with this experience for many reasons:  1)  Armando contacted me immediately to get the job scheduled  2) his communications were frequent and informative   3) Unlike other companies I have used, he works alongside his crew so that he can guide the process with his knowledge of plants and landscaping -- no middle man between the client and the workers  4) I appreciated the comments he made.  For example, there were some trees and bushes that I asked him to remove that he suggested I keep.  He pruned them to show me how nice they could look. 5) Armando is a real go-getter and seems to enjoy his work. "Laura was very friendly and talkative.  Her crew worked hard, in hot weather, to do the work described above.  I had neglected the yard, so it was a lot of work, I know.  I'll never know whether it was market-value worth the $1900 I paid for it ($200 was the Angie's List coupon, so an additional $1700), as it's hard for me to calculate outside a by-the-hour pay rate, but the yard was certainly overgrown to a large extent and they did removed and haul A LOT of debris.  They were originally going to come over three or four days but were able to do the work in only two...the second day shorter than I expected.  I suppose this was more convenient, as I could set about starting the garden I had hoped to establish in a more inviting yard, but it did leave me wondering about the cost.
