"Bruce and Lori were very helpful in the planning stages to make the most of my kitchen cabinets/space. Work started just as scheduled and they were here every day until completion..completing just as predicted in 5 days. Their employee, not some contracted worker, was very polite and talented too. Love the results!"

"We needed our window trim and baseboards repainted after 15 years. Peter walked around inside, looking at every window and baseboard, then he came back with his team and showed them. They needed to match several colors since different ones were used during the construction. The team came and did an initial great job, and then came back and thoroughly completed a punch list that I had prepared, even seeing things that I had missed. Everyone was polite and pleasant, and careful with our home's contents and floors. Peter was a very cooperative and competent owner. I would highly recommend Carroll Painting to anyone."

"Wanted to get my house painted to put on the market next year and called FRE based on reviews here on Angie's List. Worked with Jim Bird at FRE and was quoted about $4400 for paint/trim out the door and he suggested we also do a roof inspection as he saw some minor hail damage that we might be able to get our insurer (USAA) to cover the cost of not only the roof, but also get some of the paint done on 2 sides of the house. I did get 2 other quotes from other A rated companies but NO ONE could do both the roof and the paint under the same USAA claim. <br /> USAA came out and Jim was right! Put in a claim for the roof and they were also covering 2 sides of the house paint/trim. So, out of pocket only had to pay my deductible (2,900) to cover the rest. Jim was great to work with and we went with the Class 4 roof from Atlas and Sherwin-Williams Superpaint. <br /> The roof was done in one day and only had minor "shingle dust" around the house. Nothing too bad. Looked great and when we had that hail storm back in mid-July the hail/rain was just shooting off the new gutter lip they installed. Great job. <br /> Because of the rain we've had lately there was about a 3 week gap before the painters got started, but last week we had a stretch of sunny days and they came out one morning, power washed and got screens off, and added 3M window tape and coverings, then next day did the paint and trim. It came out fantastic. <br /> Then this weekend Matt Gartner, one of the FRE owners, came out to check on the house and make sure everything went great. <br /> Awesome service and awesome job, would use these guys again in a heartbeat. <br />"

"Crowder came out and gave us an estimated quote. They had to reschedule a few times due to weather. <br /> The first day they came out all prep work was done. Then when the weather cooperated they came in to finish. <br /> They were very proffessional, all work was cleaned up after and the painting job was excellent. <br /> I was most impressed with the care they took painting around the winter dead vines that wrapped around the porch. <br /> They did this causing no damage and that took some time effort and care. <br /> All around a very good experience and we will definitely call them again."

"l cOur home is around 20 years old and had brass hinges (that showed outside the cabinet door) and brass handles. We wanted to put 'European hinges' in instead to hide the hinges since this is more to what's in style today. We also wanted to move to brush nickle handles. Bill used to have his own cabinet shop. In addition we had a small hole and a much larger area that need to have drywall placed in those areas. We had Bill and Pat do the work because we were very pleased with their painting and Bill has done a number of renovations on homes they bought and sold as well as the work their doing at their current home. Bill said he was able to do these and we felt we could trust his work (as shown by the outstanding work they did with the exterior painting of our house). The provided good fair bid for the work to be done. <br /> Bill and Pat worked together on the projects. Bill replaced the hinges to 36 cabinets (which required the whole to be cut in the back of the door for each European hinge to be placed in) while Pat replaced the handles to the cabinets and drawers--somewhere in the 60 handles range. They added 'stoppers' on the doors so they would close quietly. In addition Bill repaired the 'rail system' for one of our drawers so it would pull out smoothly. <br /> Bill fixed the two holes--the smaller one and much larger one with drywall. In addition there were a few areas where the original drywall taping was a bit rough and a small crank in another drywall area. He repaired all of those areas as well. They sprayed it with 'orange peel' and Pat painted the areas with a couple of coats of paint each and did some feathering of the paint so it would not stand out from the rest of the painted rooms. The work done was amazing. We could not see the taped or caulked areas. It was as if those spots just disappeared and never existed--we were very, very pleased. <br /> Bill is quite the handy man and Pat complements the work he does. We are looking to use them to do some additional projects around our house over the next couple of months. We can not speak highly enough for their work, for their suggestions and for their advice. <br />"

"Michael was readily available, prompt and did an excellent job on our garage door. We will certainly hire him again when we need a new door. He also does general contracting, and I would not hesitate to use his services for anything in that line."

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Canon City, CO

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
