"I’ve used Atlanta Metro Roofing for years for minor repairs. They respond quickly and fix problems correctly the first time. Last month we replaced the roof and one skylight and it was a fairly stress-free process. Shari, the owner, is easy to communicate with, knows how to work with insurance companies, and is competitive with pricing. The roof install was complete in one day and they did good job with cleanup as well."

"<p>Bryan was very thorough thoroughly discusses the details of the products he uses.  As an engineer, I had more questions than most, and if there's one word for Bryan, it's honest.  He levels with you and answers all that he can even beyond the roof system, and if he can't, assures you he'll find the answer or have an expert reach out to you fast.  For our house, I was exploring using foam insulation on the decking.  He put me in touch with someone to discuss it, and ALSO, presented me with the idea of a solar powered attic fan.  After talking to 5 different roofing contractors, besides his persistence, and honesty, his stepping outside the box to present me with a cutting edge solution got him the job.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>As promised, the wind damage he found on the roof resulted in my insurance company covering the entire project (sans deductible of course).  Being late fall, he assured me they could act fast when the weather was right.  The forecast showed a window in 2 days when wind died down, the temp warmed up to 60, and no rain expected.  He got it done.  Shingles ordered, all supplies delivered, and team showed up like clockwork at sunrise as promised.  They got right to work with tarps (some holes) covering the property and removed the old roof.  Then after a quick lunch, began the new roof.</p> <p>One hiccup here, Bryan and I agreed to have ridge vents on all ridges, but only to cut openings for some of the ridge line as the solar attic fan would vent the uncut ridges.  A language barrier due to a last minute death in the family of his foreman meant all ridges were cut.  Bryan showed up and explained to them where they had gone wrong, and they patched the gaps with plywood and proceeded.</p> <p>Another hiccup then, equipment failure, the team's shingle elevator broke.  He appraised the situation and as it turns out, the only option was to walk the shingles up the ladder on their backs, old school.  Amazing to watch, but of course, daylight ran out with the unexpected elevator down.  They cleaned up, took a picture of the remaining supplies, and showed up first thing next morning and finished the job.  Make sure for peace of mind to borrow the rare earth magnets they use to check for nails.  Yes, I found nails, as happens on every roof project.  They waited patiently while I went over my property with the magnet and felt great as they left.</p> <p>The solar fan was installed a few weeks later and wired up.  We may have to wait until warmer weather for all shingles to completely seal, but I have every confidence Bryan will be there at a moment's notice to answer/address any issues that come up.  I do recommend his services.</p>"

"I was extremely impressed both with the company's professionalism and timely communication.  Jerry Lanier was very courteous in his dealings with me.  We ended up using a different provider due to a pre-existing relationship with that provider.  However, Lanier Roofing is clearly a top-notch company, and I would highly recommend them for consideration for your future roofing needs. <br />"

"Excellent work replacing old roof with leaks and lot of damaged boards. Explained the process and answered all questions I have about ventilation, long term durability, roofing layers, edging, waterproofing etc. Hand nailed new shingles and installed the roofing system per GAF elite contractor requirements. They stand behind their work backed by a solid written GAF warranty. All this for a very good price."

"I found True Quality Roofing on Angies list and read their reviews. I reached out and spoke with Jay. About 3 months ago, I called about a possible repair and Jay came out the next day. He inspected the roof and we discussed what needed to be done. I asked when they would be able to schedule it and he told me he would do it while he was there. If that’s not service I don’t know what is! Jay was super professional and courteous... not to mention timely. Thank you so much for what you do. I was concerned about the repair and it was fixed within a day!"

"The new roof installation went great from start to finish. Everyone in the company was so helpful through the whole process. The site supervisor was by each day to go over the progress and any issues that found during removal of old shingles and during installation of new materials. The field crew was very professional and made sure that all debris was cleaned each day before they left. Dr. Roof definitely isn't the cheapest option for a new roof, but if you want it done right and not have to worry about it in the future they should be the only company in the Atlanta area to use."

"OC roofing did an amazing job. The communication from the first phone call to schedule an estimate, to the last phone call when payment was given, was superb. I knew exactly what to expect and when to expect it. As far as the work? It was perfect. OC removed all my gutters and replaced about 30' of fascia board and got it "paint ready". I had the whole house painted (by another contractor), and the new gutters back on the house in about 1 week. Sandra with OC Roofing, helped to make sure the length of time the gutters were not on the house was kept to a minimum and my painters knew when they planned to show back up, keeping the paint on schedule. OC's crews were clean and efficient and when the work was completed (both stages) there was absolutely no mess to clean up in the yard. I will not hesitate to call back OC Roofing Systems for any roofing needs in the future. The pricing was great and so was the piece of mind in knowing it was done correctly the first time. Thanks for a stellar job!"

"Overall it was a very good experience working with Georgia Roof Advisors. Naomi was a real pro, she understood my situation and got things moving within 48 hours. The roof consultant Chad came out and gave a thorough plan of options. I opted to do a repair and the work Tim did was superb. Great company I would recommend them to my friends."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Canton, GA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
