"Luke came out and did the install in a day. The work done included installing a 99% efficient on-demand hot water heater, a whole-house water conditioning filter, a floor drain, and all the associated wiring, plumbing and gas work needed. In addition, he located the new equipment in an ideal location in our laundry room. The workmanship of the installation was very high and Luke did a good job on all the details making everything neat and tidy. The heater and conditioner are all very-high quality, top-end models and he charged very fair prices (not much more than I could find on-line) for the materials and equipment. There was a slight leak which took a couple of times to finally resolve but Luke was great about taking care of it, no problem. In the end, the work came in under the quoted price. Steve did the whole deal on a "hand shake" and his word. Definitely would recommend them and will use them again for any plumbing needs I have."

"<p><br /> </p> <p>Jim Burgess showed up the day after I contacted him and gave the area a walk through, providing insights/advice as to how the work would proceed and what would work, considering the concepts we had in mind.  He was able to fit us in due to a rescheduling of one of his other jobs and the crew showed up as promised and finished on schedule, with little disruption of our lives, considering we were having two bathrooms remodeled!  They did great site prep, and were conscientious about leaving the area clean each day.  His team had great attitudes and were willing to explain their work and checked in with us as they started significant phases of the project.  They made changes where they could and only charged us for the significant modifications to the original plan.</p> <p>All in all, we were very pleased and felt we got a quality product that exceeded our expectations.  In fact, we then asked Jim to GC a whole house paint later in the year because we grew to trust his judgment, honesty and candor.</p> <p>I'd recommend Home Works to anyone.  If they say they can do the renovation for the amount and within a certain time frame, you can take that to the bank.</p>"

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"I was frustrated that they didn't cover our garbage disposal and they didn't cover the thermostat, otherwise everything we did there was great. I didn't have any problems. It's $50 a month, and then everything is covered. You don't have to pay for people to come out. When our hot water heater broke, we had to pay for the new water heater, but that just for the actual thing, not anything else like the service or installation."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Cardwell, MT

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
