"Garret provided a fast quote for my project which was very reasonably priced. He took time to answer my questions with fast turnaround for responses. His availability was also very quick, and I wanted my project done as soon as possible to meet other deadlines. Garret and Larry showed up on time and were very courteous and professional, and respectful of my property in their prep work and during the concrete pour. They both answered my questions and explained the project details, along with follow-up that was required. I highly recommend Northwest Concrete Cutting for anyone needing a concrete pour."

"Rome & his crew were great to work with from the get go. Rome is super responsive to phone/text and after a review over phone and texts provided me with estimates, colors and options. The team worked hard, were quick and did a great job and cleaned up post work. Rome walked me thru options on redoing my steps. To the patio and guided me on options. I am very happy and satisfied with their work and would hire Rome on future projects, if a need arose."

"John was terrific in all respects. He came out the first day to give me an estimate. He brought his crew out the next day to start the demo and prep work. After a short delay due to poor weather and a difficulty in obtaining concrete, he completed the job on the third day. The price was reasonable and the quality of work was top notch! John kept me informed at every step of the work and answered all my questions. I highly recommend him for any concrete needs you may have."

"They were very responsive up front and scheduled the work quickly. Arrived on the day and helped us complete some other work at no additional charge while waiting for cement to arrive. Unfortunatley one of the workers walked across the patio and left mud boot marks that will not come out. We attempted to contact Sam multiple times however, after the first time he answered via text he stoped responding and never came out to address the issue. We are now stuck with permanent boot marks in our patio. They also requested to be paid in full up front but backed off when we offered to put half down. Otherwise we were pretty happy with the work but very disappointed that they did not respond or even come by to see if there was anything they could do to help fix the issue."

"We hired Island Concrete to do the ground prep and pour of a 10'x20' concrete slab that we will be placing a shed on. The end result was nice enough to be a patio! (Too bad it's going to be completely covered by a shed.) It was a pleasure to work with Island Concrete and we do plan to hire them again in the future."

"Bellevue Masonry and Drainage repaved our driveway in April 2026. They removed the old, cracked concrete (turns out there was a lot more concrete than they expected, resulting in a 10% cost increase) and replaced it with asphalt. The job went smoothly, and Peter, who supervised the work, communicated with us dailt so we knew exactly what would happen when. From beginning to end the job lasted about a week. The new asphalt looks good so far (it's mid May), and I have every reason to believe it will stay that way."

"Platinum General Construction LLC was contacted after two initially hired contractors were incompetent in providing the remodeling services needed for our bathroom remodel in Dec/Jan 2025. Platinum stepped in and completed the work on time and as quoted. David was our primary contact. He was great as respects communication, working through issues, and coordinating with subcontractors. The remodel included heated tile floors, a curbless shower, toilet install, and beautiful tile work. We were pleased that Platinum got our project back on track and finished after dealing with the mis-steps of our original contractors."

"The team got right to work, and finished in no time. They were just amazing to see working so fast and to my specific standards. They were helpful with questions I had, and explained why they were doing certain things. Working with JB is just amazing, he’s understanding of what exactly you’re envisioning, and advices you on how to make it even better. I would’ve never thought to stamp it to create a bigger curb appeal, but he was so right. I would highly recommend them for all of my projects moving forward. You’re wasting your time picking anyone else!"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Carnation, WA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
