"This project started as grading my yard, but Bud listened to what I was wanting to accomplish and was able to provide additional services including building a fence for my yard. I had four companies come out to provide a quote. Only two companies actually submitted a quote. There was over $1,000 difference between the two quotes. I will turn to BMG Services LLC for all of my future needs and can not give enough praise for the work done!!!!!"

"It was a pleasure to have Patrick and sons replace our cracked concrete slab with pavers. The work was done in a timely matter and we are very happy with our new beautiful patio. We live in a townhouse and all materials had to be stored in the front parking lot in a cul de sac. Upon completion of the patio, that area was cleaned as well as the backyard where the pavers were laid. We most certainly recommend Patrick and CPR Construction."

"Larry did a wonderful job with the repair. He worked around my unexpected trip out of town when scheduling the work. He was very prompt and professional while doing the repair and answered any questions I had. The work area was left very tidy at the end of each work day. Overall, Larry was pleasure to work with."

"Sam the Concrete Man came on time and worked hard from start to finish.  They were a little more expensive than other companies but they poured concrete better with having the support of rebar underneath, <br />"

"Jay did a great job on our projects which were a large concrete patio, a large concrete platform for a garden shed, and a small platform for garbage cans. He had good suggestions about handling the slope of our back and side yards. He and his crew were always punctual in showing up. The crew worked hard and did a great job. After we get our garden shed set up, we want them back to put in a concrete walkway from the driveway, through the gate, and to the backyard. I would highly recommend using them. We thought their prices were very reasonable."

"My experience was great.  I had gotten a door at the re-force recycle center in Boulder and it didn't fit into my front door exactly.  There was a chance that he may have to re-frame it, but he didn't.  He did a great job.  He had to end up shaving an inch off the bottom of it and he put a new handle and deadlock and put it into the new door.  He had all the supplies with him.  He just did a great job. Since I was an Angie's List person he waived the drive fee which was nice.  And he cleaned all his stuff up in the garage.  He put everything back the way it was and cleaned up like he wasn't even there."

"Mike Bradley from Naturescapes is top notch. We first hired him several years ago to build a paver patio in our backyard. We've since had him back to do major landscaping in our front and back yards including rock removal, sod installation, overhaul of a planter area, boulder installation, and more. Most recently he replaced a window well and helped with a solution to combat a chronic drainage problem we've had on the north side of our property. I can't say enough wonderful things about this man and his company. It's so hard these days to find good quality work from honest dependable people. We plan on working with him again when we want to remove some ailing aspens and plant another tree on our property."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Carr, CO

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
