"My experience with them has been very good. Some companies have a regular program like before winter, they come and change filters or do some of those things but this company doesn't have any such program. They come fore service calls when you call them and otherwise they don't. I have not had any need for them to come to my house. Their prices were reasonable- I did shop around to see what other people would charge me and they were pretty good."

"I called about 10am and they were able to schedule a visit that afternoon. This was an older furnace, but the part that was needed was available on the service tech's truck, so the repair was done in one trip. The receptionist and the service tech were both very courteous. The tech was very knowledgeable, about what needed to be done. I would use them again if the need arose."

"From the beginning, Scott Austin was a professional.  He came to bid the job at the appointed time!  Then while working the job, he responded to text messages and phone calls in a timely manner.  This was important to us as this is a second home.   Scott does most of the work himself which is great because he oversees the entire job.  He had to take off hardie board and trim from the outside of the house.  Some wood had to be replaced and the header needed a few days to dry out.   Flashings had to be set around doors, windows and cantilever joyces that support the second floor deck.  Tyvek had to be replaced around all the patio doors and windows on the second floor. The work progressed well and when the job was finished the house looked good as new! <br /> <br /> As a bonus for me, I found out that Scott works with tile. He placed a 7" circular Pewabic tile in the backsplash on one of the kitchen walls. It looks GREAT!  All in all, I highly recommend Scott Austin to anyone looking for quality work from a contractor in the Port Huron, thumb area of Michigan. Oh, did I mention that he cleans up the debris from the job daily - you don't have to walk around a mess!  <br /> <br /> P.S. I found Scott on ANGIE's LIST and I'm happy to add a recommendation for him. <br />"

"They seemed to know what they were doing and they worked efficiently to fix the problem. They communicated well throughout the process as they had to cut a hole in the ceiling below the plumbing. They did as little damage as possible to the plaster/lathe ceiling."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Carsonville, MI

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
