"Kenny and his team did a fantastic job transforming our backyard building an outdoor fireplace, natural bluestone patio, walkway and built in kitchen. I have recommended him to several friends and all have been pleased with the work and very fair pricing."

"It went very well! Lewis Services is prompt and professional. They take pride in their work and do a wonderful job! We have used other lawn companies before to mow for us and they would come when they felt like it, whether the grass needed to be mowed or not. They would not do a thorough job mowing and weed eating. We are very pleased! Thank you for your dedication and hard work! Your caring attitude is appreciated!"

"I recently bought a mountain cabin and discovered some challenges with water: the cabin is located in an area with a lot of streams and water flow, which can lead to flooding in the crawlspace. The land immediately surrounding the cabin had poor grading, leading water straight towards the foundation, where it was trapped with nowhere to go. I reached out to Jim at Riggs Landscaping to solicit help regrading the property. From initial contact through project completion, I was extremely impressed with Jim and his crew. Jim quickly came out in the Fall to take a look, offering suggestions for regrading the area around the house. Gutters in the back of the house went into corrugated plastic piping in the ground, which appeared to be clogged somewhere. In addition to regrading, Jim offered to replace the pipes in the ground. He initially suggested using corrugated plastic pipes, but I suggested upgrading to solid PVC, and he was happy to adapt his quote to accommodate that request. It was too late in the season to begin the work, but Jim stayed in touch with me over the winter and answered my questions. Then, once spring arrived on the mountain, we set a date for the work, which took three days. Jim was on site doing the work himself with two hard working crew members. They carefully regraded the lot, installing four new runs of 4" PVC pipe from the gutter downspouts into the woods. The property is very rocky, which increased the difficulty of the work, but he brought sufficient equipment to handle the job. Several heavy rainstorms later, the regrading is making a big difference, allowing water in the backyard to flow away from the house and into the woods. It was a pleasure working with Jim and I won't hesitate to use his company for future projects. The work was completed on time, was priced reasonably, and the final price matched the estimate. I strongly recommend Riggs Landscaping!"

"Dan and I had met about a year ago when the spring/water problem began and he offered a lot of good advice. I declined on the work with the hope that it might go away. Not likely. It got worse over this past winter and then through the summer. I got Dan back on the phone and he came out within a few days. As suspected, the problem was worse now but he thoroughly scoped it out, gave me a proposal which was now almost twice the original price but for good reason. Part of the problem was that we had addressed the water issue about 7 years ago and that held for a time, but the contractor didn't use the proper materials and didn't do this type of work as his full time job.  Dan explained everything clearly to us, gave us a time frame for when the work would start (within 3 weeks), told us he would completely warranty his work for 2 years. He was out to start the work in about 2 weeks with a crew of 4. Ramone, his main on-site guy was very knowledgeable too. After the work got going, Dan called me to explain that after opening up the existing drainage system he wanted to modify his original plan which would in turn avoid cutting across my asphalt driveway. Sounded great to me. They were in and out in 3 days and then Dan came back 2 days following to walk through the finished project, explain all the work that was done and of course to pick up a check. The crew left everything in very good shape considering the amount of digging they did and the amount of earth they had to move around. We have no water issue now that I can detect and Dan seemed very confident that the issue "was solved" once and for all. I appreciated his confidence because this is way outside of my area of expertise. I can only judge based on the results. <br /> My wife and I are extremely pleased with the work, their professionalism and without a doubt we would use Archer again.... but I hope I don't have to. <br /> Thanks Dan, Ramone and all of your crew for a job well done! <br /> Niel and Kathy Jefferson <br />"

"Excellent. From the initial contact to the quote process to installation the job was professional. Despite delays caused by the COVID shut down they were able to get me on the schedule as soon as the cement plants reopened. The project was done in two days. The end result exceeded my expectations. I would heartily recommend their services."

"I want to send a big Thank You out to Mike and the guys at Fine Fence in Mt. Airy. Today, they replaced the fence at my daughter's town house, and I have to say that the quality of the materials and the workmanship is outstanding. They did a 3.5 foot picket fence in the front, and a 6 foot privacy fence in the back. The posts are 4x4 or 6x6 (for the gate) pressure treated, and the rest of the fence is cedar. The fence is beautiful. Even the nails are all in a line on the pickets. I would highly recommend Fine Fence."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Cascade, MD

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
