"Jose’ has a very professional appearance and demeanor. He took a great deal of time in explaining the problem to me, actually showed me the cost of parts necessary to repair, which was as much or more than a new stove. He did not try to push an expensive repair on me. He made thoughtful recommendations on a new stove, and even gave me a couple of hints on issues with two other major appliances. Although disappointed that my 9 year old stove could not economically be repaired, I was THOROUGHLY satisfied with this experience. We will definitely call First Priority the next time we need a major appliance repair."

"I purchased the $19 special.  Azael came as scheduled and did a thorough checkup of my 5-year old refrigerator.  Azael was great - he was honest and told me that everything checked out fine.

"Overall we are very satisfied. The day they removed our old unit and installed the new one they showed up right on time. They put down tarps that ran from the front door to the attic steps and were very careful to not damage the walls or doors. The ONLY reason I did not give them all A's was because they had told me that it would take about 7-8 hours to complete the work but it ended up taking almost 13 hours (gave them a B under professionalism but didn't know which category above this issue fit into the best). I set it up to have them start between 5:00 & 5:30 AM so it wouldn't run too far into the heat of the day (100 degree highs). They actually had the outside unit complete by about 10:30  and around 11AM the 4 man team went to a 2 man team due to other appointments in their schedule and the 2 man team remaining went to a long lunch break (almost 2 hours).
When they returned, they moved slower than they had in the morning but got the job done. For most this probably wouldn't have been an issue but I had boarded our dogs for the day and HAD to pick them up by 7pm. They finished at 6:40 and I was able to get there just in time but I was getting a little worried towards the end.
As I said earlier,  I am very satisfied with the work they did and will definitely use them again and would recommend them to my friends and family. I didn't  give them a review right away because I wanted to be sure I didn't have any problems before submitting it. Although it's almost November now, the weather has not gotten cold enough to turn on the heat, so please take that into consideration but the unit has a 10 year warranty and the AC part of the unit has worked great, so we're not anticipating any issues!

FAQs for appliance (smaller size) installation and replacement projects in Castroville, TX

Garbage disposals last around 10 years when properly maintained. If your unit is getting close to that age or repair costs are increasing, it might be time to consider a replacement. Regular maintenance and careful use can help maximize your garbage disposal's performance and help it reach its maximum lifespan.

There are several signs to watch for that indicate your garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Replacement may be necessary if it doesn't work even though it's properly connected, the blades are worn and causing delays in operation, a persistent foul odor that won't go away, or leaks coming from the bottom due to a compromised seal. If you're experiencing any of these issues, it might be time to consider getting a new garbage disposal to keep your kitchen running smoothly.

A plumber or handyperson can install your garbage disposal if the electrical connections are already in place. If you need additional electrical work, you'll also need to hire a qualified electrician to handle the rest of the job. Hiring local professionals ensures the installation is safe and up to code.

It’s important to avoid putting certain items down the drain to keep your garbage disposal running smoothly and avoid clogs. Expandable foods like pasta, rice, oatmeal, and bread can swell and cause blockages. Coffee grounds, grease, fats, and oils can accumulate and create clogs. Hard items such as meat bones, nuts, and fruit pits can damage the disposal blades. Eggshells, potato peels, and fibrous vegetables such as celery, pumpkin, corn husks, artichokes, onion skins, and asparagus can wrap around the blades or obstruct the pipes.

Not every sink is suitable for the installation of a garbage disposal. The compatibility of the sink with the disposal depends on the material and structural integrity. While many standard sinks support these units, fireclay sinks are prone to cracking under the added stress and should not be used. Confirm that your sink can securely accommodate the disposal before installation.

Choosing the correct size garbage disposal depends on your household size and how much waste you produce. A 1/3–1/2 horsepower unit should be sufficient for households with one to two people. If your household consists of three to six people, a 1/2–3/4 horsepower unit is recommended. FA3/4–1 horsepower model will be necessary. For larger households of five to eight people
