"The estimator did a tour of the attic, explained the condition of my current insulation, and then measured the rooms below the attic. He then confirmed the square footage and prepared the estimate, including two options for addressing my previously uninsulated garage ceiling. The estimate showed what the total cost would be and what I should expect to receive back in terms of rebate and tax benefits. My out of pocket cost was approximately 45% of the net total, excluding the insulation for the garage which was not eligible for the rebates or tax benefits. I was thrilled. With costs for the garage included, my out of pocket was 54% of the gross total. I was still very happy with this figure.

Once we agreed on the scope of work, he explained the installation process, what products are used, and prepared the documents for installation and rebate submission, and emailed me a receipt for my credit card payment. He scheduled two appointments, one for the next day and one for the day after (just in case either of us had an issue). I received a call later that day confirming a three-hour window for the installers to come the following day.

The installers arrived as scheduled and confirmed a few facts before getting to work. They finished in under an hour and a half (as I was told they would) and cleaned up before they left. The installer who worked in the attic asked if he could go in th house to check a bathroom fan he stepped on during the installation. He wanted to make sure he didn't damage the fan or the drywall that held it in place. (We both checked and everything was fine, but I appreciated him being honest and proactive.) The installers then presented me with the certificate of completion that is needed for the rebates and also a short survey to evaluate their performance.

After making my decison to use SUNROC, I spoke with the inspector who helped me evaluate this home before purchasing it. I didn't know this until we spoke that he also used SUNROC to increase the insulation in his own home and said it was one of the best insulation jobs he had seen in 30 years of inspecting houses. I believe my experience is equal to his and couldn't be happier with the result."

"Tyler and Travis make a great team. They work well together, and they are both committed to growing their business one satisfied customer at a time. They also happen to be really nice, down to earth people. When we first contacted chimera, we had a very rough idea of what we wanted in the basement. We wanted to turn a small 3/4 bath into a master bath and consolidate old hvac in a utility room to make room for a master closet. They were patient with us as we honed in on what we wanted, but they were not particularly helpful from a design perspective. They told us that there was not enough space to accommodate both a bath and closet and presented us a plan for just a bath remodel. After playing with the floor plan, I came up with a design that would give us what we wanted, and the plan worked out just as we expected.

The subcontractors that work with chimera are extremely competent and trustworthy. They show up and get the work done. They are respectful, and when any issues did arise, Tyler worked with them to rectify. They really have a slew of great subcontractors to call upon, and I think this is their greatest asset.

Tyler did much of the work himself, including the framing and tile work, and we were very impressed with the work he did. He does not cut corners or do anything "good enough." This is part of the reason that chimera is not the cheapest bid you'll receive. For example, when we tore down an existing wall, we discovered that some previous remodel clearly left a load bearing wall with some damage that could compromise the structural integrity of the space, and rather than ignore it and just breeze through the job, Tyler brought in an engineer to take a look and then completely rebuilt the wall. He discussed this with us before proceeding, and it did incur an additional cost.

In my opinion, the only draw-back of working with chimera is that their services are in such demand (With good reason) that they take on multiple projects/ clients at the same time. This means that they are not ever-present on any one job, and its when they're not on site that mistakes get made. My husband and i both work during the day, and were not always aware of what was being done on what day, so at the end of the day we would survey what had been done. For example, the electrician came by one day, and when he left we found that the outlets and lighting had been wired and roughed in. The outlets and light switches were awkwardly placed, and the placement for the sconces were all wrong, but we had never been asked or consulted with about these placement details. When we called Tyler, he came by and agreed that placement was awkward. Because the drywall was already in place, to make changes would require drywall repair and additional cost to rectify. We had to move the sconces, but we still have unsightly covers where the sconces were previously roughed in because we would otherwise have to remove a whole wall of drywall. The outlets could not be moved without a great additional cost, so we live with the less than ideal electrical layout. Moving the sconces did incur additional cost for electrical and drywall repair/paint, which Tyler agreed to split with us. While noble, this mishap would not have occurred in the first place if there had been better communication.

In the end, the space looks great, and other than some minor snafus, we are very satisfied. In fact, we are currently talking with chimera about taking on some additional work for us. I would definitely recommend this team, but constant communication is key.

"

"Carrie and his crew (Juan and Rudy) were top notch professionals. Half of our sprinkler zones were not working and the other half were leaking. Our entire yard needed an overhaul. They brought in great equipment, including a front loader and dumpsters to get the job done right. They took care to spray the dirt to keep the dust down. The city even came by and gave them a "thumbs up" on what they were seeing. They installed sprinkler wire in new conduit and ran it to my garage, installed 50 cubic yards of bark, 2000 sq ft of water wise sod and left my property looking pristine. They even helped haul away a few items from my yard. I would highly recommend working with Carrie's team - they did a quality job."
