Roberto worked with us on the pricing, which was good news because now it was off of our plate! His crew was there the early next day … fast, friendly, courteous, conscientious and neat! They rely on subpar subcontractors with no professionalism or craftsmanship. ? Overpromise and underdeliver: I had to stay on top of every detail myself, doing the job the contractor was hired to manage. ? Unreliable: Never kept appointments or confirmed schedules. The only time they showed up on time was to collect payment. ? Unsafe practices: At one point, a subcontractor was cutting concrete inside the bathroom with a gas?powered tool, filling my entire home with smoke. I had to intervene to stop it and argue just to get basic protections like tarps in place. ? Poor management: Subcontractors openly complained about not being paid, and I even had to send one home myself because of unacceptable behavior. ? End result: Substandard work that does not reflect the money spent. Save yourself "

He gave us great advice about how to go about repairing our front porch that was composed of brick and flagstones; he suggested replacing the brick with bluestone, which was in keeping with our front stair approach to the front walkway. He told us the flagstone walkway and stone wall could be repaired. John arranged for his team members, Brian and JC, to begin work on our schedule. The project went exceedingly well. We were told the work would take 5 days; it took 6 days because of some small issues along the way, e.g. rotted wood where the porch met the house, the mason's delivery truck left an oil spill on our driveway that needed to be removed. They were clean, quiet, respectful, and diligent in their work, and John checked in with us periodically to make sure all was going well. Importantly, once completed, we were charged no more than the estimate John had originally given us for the project, in spite of the additional work. Our new porch is beautiful, and the repaired walkway and stone wall are completely in keeping with the originals. We highly recommend JD Masonry, without reservation!"
