"Simply put, Bob (the owner) and his crew were awesome in every measurable way. They score a 100 points on a 10-point scale as far as we are concerned. To begin with, Bob responded to my voice-message within an hour or so...he visited the project location the next day, and provided his written quote within 2 business days. Bob also maintained communication during the period from my initial call to the morning that the work began. Based on DELL'AQUILA PLASTERING's current workload at the time, a tentative date less than 2 weeks out was agreed upon, subject to us completing other work (wiring, plumbing, etc). "This was a challenging project from a sequencing standpoint and they handled their scheduling well, giving us a ballpark date, then a date to start work and then they followed through. The painters followed the carpentry and brick cleaning scopes and were ready to start in August.  We had a very definitive schedule we had to keep and they had to balance with the other contractor working both before and after them. The brick cleaning created efflorescence on the bricks and stains on the stonework. (UCS had completed this just last year, and although it previously looked great and held up very well, the lintels were now streaked pink and red.)
UCS was able to come out and complete the painting in October, after the efflorescence on the bricks cleared.  (We did not want them to paint too early if we had to get it cleaned again.)  We were unable to remove the stain from the stone ourselves, so we had Ultimate Custom Painting paint these.   This was an agreed upon change order, as it was not anticipated or included in the original scope of work and they also completed this within our needed time frame (the next day!).
As the base scope, they painted the door frame, transom trim, trim on  windows, gutter, and newly exposed or created dormer woodwork, a fairly complex design with several scallops, flutes, and trimmed, inset boxes, using 3 colors. They prepped the 120-year old wood and caulked the final painted surfaces as well.  They also performed repairs to the wood work that was exposed from August to October while we tried to contact the other contractor - there was a hole in the dormer and they installed the missing scallop part that had fallen into the gutter! They did not charge us for these repairs beyond the scope.
 It turned out beautifully.  It works very well with the work they completed last summer (paneled door, railing, lintels.)

"Our old house on the Northside of Pittsburgh was in need of an exterior facelift and a new front porch to replace the one that had collapsed. I met with Dave LaBovick of Exceptional Exteriors and we agreed upon a price, which my wife and I found quite reasonable. The work on the vinyl siding began about a week later and took only a half a day to wrap up. The job was done to our complete satisfaction, The before and after is like night and day. Another crew arrived a few days later to do the porch and sidewalk. They began work on a Thursday afternoon and were finished 24 hours later. Once again, we are very happy with the result. In both cases, they removed all debris and left-over building materials associated with the job. We are not only completely satisfied with the work that Exceptional Exteriors did for us, we are looking forward to hiring them again for our next home project."

"In summer 2014 I interviewed three different contractors to replace my back porch, which had some structural problems and was in need of replacing. I decided to hire the Construction Factory because John, the owner, listened carefully, seemed to understand what I wanted, and provided an estimate that I could afford. He and his crew started work in the winter and completed the job in February of 2015. Soon after completion, it became clear there was a problem with the lattice on the porch. The rest of the porch looked great and the work they did to upgrade my front porch greatly improved the curb appeal of my house. John and I had many conversations about how to fix the problem with the lattice and John tried several things to try and make it work. We even talked about taking a different design approach. It all ended recently when we finally agreed that the root of the problem were the vinyl lattice panels themselves. We joined forces and wrote to the manufacturer. We succeeded in getting a full refund of the purchase price for the materials, getting the promise of a full refund within a couple of hours! John and I agreed that if I paid for the materials, he would install new lattice with framing. At the cost of treated wood lattice, paint, and vinyl trim (under $1000), John and his crew removed the old, flimsy vinyl lattice and replaced it with ¾” treated lattice that my neighbor and I primed and painted. John’s crew was able to complete the replacement in one day (except for some final trim at the top of the skirt, which John himself promised to return and install in the next couple of weeks). My experience with this company started out great. Although we had some problems along the way, John always stuck with it and wanted to make it right and get me what I originally wanted. The porch is already getting accolades from my neighbors. John really turned things around by being persistent, talking things through with me, and following through on what he promised. If it wasn’t for this poor material, I’m sure the job would have been completed without a hitch."

"Marvin and his team (I met 3 crews of about 15-20 very hardworking guys and a couple of women!) who did a great job. First, the roofing guys worked to remove the old shingles (and they were constantly cleaning up as they progressed as this created a full dumpster of spent material), did any necessary roof surface repair as they went, and then put on the new singles in 2-3 days on a large multi-sectional roof. Meanwhile, the carpenters were preparing and finishing any necessary trim/soffit/dormer/etc. repair work, even coming on Saturday to finish their work. Then, within 3 hours the next week, the gutter guys had cut the new gutters on-site and had them installed. Amazing coordination between the crews, project management and office staff. I also had the pleasure to meet two of the sales staff at the front end, John and Justin, who came out to check on the jobs, as well as Marvin who looked at the roof carefully at the outset, and was in constant contact or on-site with his teams. I have observed 3 roofs put on my home and several other houses in the past year, and Marvesta was the most impressive company I observed and had the pleasure to work with. If I didn't have a brick house, I'd have them back to do siding too!"
