"It went very well, but not without some minor communication issues which happens with just about every contractor. Bill did an excellent job reviewing what work I needed to have done. He presented several options and prepared an estimate. After I compared other estimates from other contractors, I decided to go with Custom Masonry based not only on the excellent reviews on Angie's list, but in the confidence I had in Bill and the workers. While not the cheapest price, Custom Masonry's price was very competitive. The only hiccup was the first day when the workers did not know exactly what needed to be done vis-a-vis the walkway design. After a couple of phone calls between the lead supervisor, myself and Bill, everything was resolved. The rest of the work proceeded smoothly and the workers did an outstanding job in both quality of work and cleaning up after each work day. I would heartily recommend Custom Masonry for any masonry work!"

"Lily and her crew did an amazing job re-landscaping our backyard. The previous homeowners had an unsightly mix of bushes and shrubs, a brick wall that cut into the usable yard space, and stone/rock work that didn’t match the brick patio. Lily and her team removed everything, fixed the area where the patio had been damaged by a neighboring tree, laid a new brick path matching the existing patio, and plant new ground cover in the yard. "Lazaro and his crew members, Fidel, William, and Issac, transformed our back yard from being a dirty and unpleasant hellscape where my wife and I never spent any time to being a beautiful and clean space where we can host parties, cookouts, and relax. The crew was extremely professional, organized, thoughtful, experienced, efficient, and communicative throughout the course of the project. I was quite impressed with their design and planning skills, extensive experience, and passion for their work. My wife and I own a small row house with a small back yard, which presented unique challenges to the crew: no back yard access except through neighbors’ properties. The crew handled this challenge well by being communicative and friendly with my neighbors and always cleaning up the space at the end of each working day. They always ensured that the fencing and hardscaping looked good from both sides of the property line, so that my neighbors were also happy! Another challenge was that an adjacent property is about 3 feet above grade and not pleasant to look at from our yard. Lazaro’s planning and vision for a beige brick half-wall, topped with wooden lattice flower boxes was a great finishing touch that provided a beautiful transition between the red brick paver patio and the elevated wooden fence to block the view of the adjacent property. The crew carefully planned their work from the beginning, so that there were no surprises at the end as the finishing touches were put on and the fence was erected. My wife and I are also confident that the money we spent on this work will be a great investment—not only for enjoying our new home, but also in the resale value some day in the future. "I have never done a project like the patio they did and I could not be happier with the process, and the work Mike and his team did. He helped my wife and I scope out the project and listened to what we wanted and how we wanted to use the space. I am in absolute awe and shock at how wonderful our new backyard looks! John and his incredible team swept in and transformed it from a grassy dump to a cozy masterpiece beckoning family and friends to stop by as it hosts the next big gathering to enchant them with its newfound charm. It's got soul! I cannot be more pleased by its total resurrection. Some background before the project: The backyard was a hot mess. My fiancé weighs around 270 pounds - the landing and steps leading to the backyard caved inwards and were one of his footsteps away from crashing down altogether. The fence was completely rotted and the gate's handle broken off: slabs of old wood were drilled in place to keep it closed. Grass and weeds competed to fill in the space within, yet it felt empty and void. It needed reviving. The steps were done the previous week and are gorgeous! No crashing here! The next crew knocked our patio and fence/gate out in two days! We had taken some before photos, and I could not believe the difference. Our new backyard looked like it belonged in a magazine's best outdoor spaces. Pinterest would be proud! The work is flawless - coming from a perfectionist (another one of my qualities), that speaks volumes! "Wow! Let me start by saying I had several contractors come by to give me estimates on fixing some major concerns I’ve had in my yard for quite a while. I needed a professional who could complete everything I needed at a reasonable price. Well, Mr Julio Escobar (ET General Contractor Inc) was able to accommodate everything I needed done. He listened to everything I needed and provided excellent suggestions as to the right approach to do the job. This entailed re-sloping my backyard to direct water away from my house foundation and installing a drainage system in my backyard. My backyard was a barren wasteland that needed quite a bit of work. I had barely any grass on one side with many trees that I wanted removed in order to get more sunlight and allow grass to grow. Julio’s crew did an amazing job (cut down trees, removed all branch/log debris and grinded/ground the stumps down to the roots). His crew planted 29 Japanese Cedar trees along my fence line. My appreciation goes out to Julio Escobar for working with the nursery to get me all Japanese Cedars instead of the Leyland Cypress trees. Exactly what I wanted all along. God Bless you! He and his crew trucked in tons of river rock to lay around my pool and along the foundation in the back of the house and then laid, I forget how many, rolls of sod. These guys worked hard and in the worst heat of the summer. Lastly, but definitely not least he and his crew brought in clean topsoil and organic compost, grass seed, and fertilizer to cover my front yard (that also was a wasteland). After that he aerated the area and laid sod on the sides of my driveway so that there would be no run off when it rained. I can’t express enough how professional, courteous, and attentive Mr Escobar and his entire crew were throughout the entire job. I would definitely use them again for future projects.
