"You may be reading this because hiring contractors to do work you know little about is a bit anxiety provoking and can result in some unpleasant results. Even though I have a background in engineering and construction, I moved forward with vinyl siding my home with some trepidation. My wife and I did some research and through a friend’s recommendation hired RJ Scalzi and Sons. The work scope included replacing fascia boards, rake boards, gutters, shutters and downspouts and installing vinyl siding. Jason and Matt showed up on time, and it very soon became clear that they were extremely skilled at their craft. Through every step of the project, they took measures to minimize inconveniencing us, including location of work vehicles and work benches, preventing damage to lawn, shrubs and trees, securing artwork on walls and shelves to prevent damage, communicating updates on schedule and timelines and maintaining a neat work area. Not only did it appear that Jason and Matt were talented, but it was also obvious that they have honed an extremely efficient team that executes work safely, quickly and with the highest quality. Two minor unexpected and out of work scope problems arose during the project that instead of dropping on my lap, as they rightfully could have, they took action and got resolved. Over the days Jason and Matt worked on our home, we were constantly impressed with the quality and efficiency of their work. A major plus was the professional, considerate and friendly demeanor both young men exhibited throughout the project. We enjoyed listening to their good natured banter, that didn’t slow them down one bit, and interacting with them. The completed project looks great and met all of our requirements, a neighbor even stopped by and asked for an estimate. Jason and Matt’s ability to combine high quality efficient work with very winning personal ways made the vinyl siding of our house a great experience and this may sound strange, but it was fun to have them around. "Very high pressure sales. They were more interested in getting it done quickly than the quality of the installation. The aluminum trim around the windows looks good but they did not replace all of the old wood underneath I requested. They would put it over anything. They did not bother to brush off the sills before covering them or remove saw dust. Many of them were cut too small because they assumed all trim was the same size. They had to redo most of them and they didn’t do the bottom corner’s correctly even though I explained to them how they should be done. When they didn’t want to do something they acted like they didn’t understand me."

"My first project with NMTI0Generation Construction (Tru Blue Construction) is complete; I have signed the contract for another, larger project. When I solicited quotes for my roof replacement (including new gutter installation and the reconstruction of my back steps and landing) I met with Project Manager Juan Carcamo. While every company that bid on my job seemed competent to do the work, I sensed that Juan and his company would be easy to work with. He listened to my concerns and ideas and explained how his company would handle them. Although his was not the lowest bid, I knew this was the best company for this job. I was not wrong! The professionalism of all the employees who worked on this project was amazing. Not only was each individual obviously skilled, they worked together as a very efficient team. There were two change orders to the project. These did not come as a surprise as Juan made sure I was fully informed as the job progressed.One change order was an upgrade in materials for the steps and landing. By the time the old roof had been removed I had decided that I would stay with this companyfor my next job, new siding and windows for the entire house. The second change order was to have the carpenters already on the job installs the rakes prelijminary to the siding job. I've been excited about every aspect of this project so far, but the actual roof installation was amazing! The crew od seven plus a foreman arrived around 7:00 am; before 4:00 they were gone. The job incuded my house (a two-story colonial style structure), a connected one-story sun porch and breezeway, and a one-car garage. They protected everything with sheeting, and they cleaned as they worked. They swept the porch and raked the yard - everything was cleaner after they left than it was when they got there."

"We hired Crystal Painting to repaint the exterior of our 1929 Dutch Colonial. The home hadn’t been repainted in 9 years and had significant peeling and exposed wood and therefore was also in need of some carpentry work. We hired Leo and his crew from Crystal based on reading other reviews on various sites, meeting him in person (many firms just look at your house online and provide a quote or do a quick stop and go without talking to you), and based on his willingness to give us a quote that included both the painting and carpentry work (most other painters were unwilling to quote the carpentry until they were on the job). The pricing quote was a bit higher than other quotes but based on the reviews we read and the quality of the conversations, we decided to take a chance on Leo and Crystal painting and weren’t disappointed. Leo’s crew showed up daily (in varying numbers depending on what needed to be done) over a two week period, did a good job of prepping the house, getting it primed, fixing the carpentry and applying two coats of paint. Some of the carpentry involved replacing rotted moldings along the roof line that likely had been on the house since it was built in 1929, amazingly he was able to find matching pieces to replace the damaged pieces. In addition, there were several color and other changes made along the way and Leo was great at accommodating those at no additional cost. Overall, we were very happy with Leo and Crystal painting and would hire them again. Several of our neighbors who saw their work, have since hired them as well."

"I recently contracted with Abalia Construction to finish my basement, and overall, my experience was great! Things that stand out for working with Khaled are his communication style, his ownership/creativity to meet the design in delivering the end-product and his efforts to keep our project timeline and budget. He brought fresh and innovative ideas to the table, transforming our basement into a unique space that stands out. The incorporation of creative elements added a distinct touch, making the final result more interesting and personalized. Khaled demonstrated an ability to manage time effectively, ensuring that the basement was completed within the specified period and provided a realistic cost estimate from the beginning which they stuck to. There were still some unforeseen delays to the project due to either material back-order or unavailability of workers, but still Khaled worked personally to keep the project on task and within reasonable time. Communication with Khaled was great as we were able to approach with any issues/concerns and he was able to have a logical cordial discussions to reach to an aligned position. He was responsive to queries and concerns. While the basement looks great quality there were still instances where attention to detail seemed lacking. The subcontractors and workers employed were also skilled professionals however their attention to details could have been better. Moreover, communication with workers/sub-contactors was little challenging due to fact them not speaking English. Clearer communication on these fronts could have mitigated some of the concerns I had during the construction process. However, Khaled overcame these challenges by taking an active role in addressing any issues even when it meant that he had to re-do some of the activities again, bringing his workers back, or even him spending long hours to complete the job to our satisfaction. In summary, Abalia Construction delivered a basement finishing project that showcased creativity and was completed within the agreed-upon timeframe and within budget all with an excellent communications. Without any doubt, they will be the first I reach out to for my next project."
