"Steve was able to determine there was no leaks in the pipes. However the sump pump wasn't working as it should and he replaced the old pump which was a huge relief as compared to a recommendation by another company to tear down the whole bathroom to replace all the pipes. Done right did it right. Thanks Steve."

"Done Right Today texted me just minutes after I searched on Angie's List with my emergency request, which was after 10pm. It was such a relief to know my repair could be done the next day. Ryan called the following morning, and he and Nick were at my door within an hour. They are very professional and knowledgeable, and gave me two options for replacement of my sump pump and check valve. They had all the necessary equipment in their truck and took less than an hour to have the replacement installed and everything running perfectly. Would definitely recommend, and hire again!! Thank you, Annie's List, for a perfect match!"

"Everyone was very professional and courteous. Since they were both waterproofing (installing a sump pump system) and finishing the basement there were two different crews but each one was knowledgeable and took care and time to show me every step they were making. There were a few times where communication from the head office was a little lacking but the team members themselves were great. I would highly recommend their services even though the price tag is quite high."

"Could not be happier, I highly recommend. Our submersible well pump just died on a very snowy Sunday afternoon. I was hoping it was just the control box but after I checked a few things I was pretty sure it was the pump. You never know how much you miss having water until there is none, especially for using your toilets. I went online to find a reputable contractor and I came across Well Water Services on Angie’s List. Boy am I glad I did. I called and left a message on Sunday night assuming that I would get a call back on Monday. About an hour later I received a call back and was told that they would be able to come out the next afternoon after an already scheduled job. They arrived on time and immediately went to check the control box in the basement. They told me that the problem was the pump not the control box. They immediately went outside in 30 degree weather and 4 inches of snow and pulled and replaced the submersible pump and wiring. They went back to the basement rewired the control box to match the new pump and finished the job. I would definitely hire again and highly recommend!!"

"The basement waterproofing went fine. HOWEVER, do yourself a favor and get educated about sump pump drainage BEFORE the waterproofing is done. This company got the water out of our basement just fine, but changed the location of where the sump pump drained outside. This is now a major problem for us outside - estimates to fix the new outside water problem are almost equal to what we paid for the inside work. We should have thought twice when the worker suggested a "day of" change to the location of the sump pump from where it was located in the estimate. The company's response was basically "Hey, we got the water out of your basement." And "If you bury the drain pipe, you void the warranty." So I guess our bad for not understanding more about where the water was going to go. But, we've had a sump pump for the 25+ years that we've lived in this house and never had an outside water problem before now. Just sayin'."

"Would have given an A but serviceman left a number of screws off of the heat pump. Company sent someone out to install right away. They installed out unit about five years ago and have serviced it twice a year. Great service. <br />"

"Each time the techs were knowledgeable and efficient; they saw the problem and solved it quickly and at a *very* reasonable cost. At one point, when the weekend tech-on-call was overbooked (my sump pump died in the middle of the June 2015 rainstorms), he made a simple intuitive suggestion that resulted in the pump regaining power and clearing the 7-12" of water in the basement."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Charlestown, MD

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
