"After considerable shopping we went with Everything Green. They did a great job. They showed up as scheduled. They cleaned up after themselves when they were done. I didnt have a long wait for installation. They used high quality sprinkler heads and a professional timer. They used one inch pipe all around. I never have a low pressure problem. They deserve this review. It was a smooth, flawless, easy job. I would absolutely use them again."

"Guerrero Landscaping did a very nice job on our multi-level retaining wall. They were fast, efficient, and very conscientious throughout the project. Their charges for the project were right in line with others who bid the work. Would hire them again."

"This was my first time using a contractor based on an Angie?s List listing, and though I was a bit apprehensive about it, the Angie?s List service did what I was hoping that it would do: it ensured a very smooth contractor experience.
Jill at Handyman Matters corresponded with me via email, which was excellent. That allowed a minimum amount of time needed for coordination. She was also very flexible on the installation date because I was awaiting the arrival of the special-ordered garbage disposal at the local Lowe's outlet. Once I picked up the item at Lowe's, I emailed Jill to let her know that I was ready to schedule the installation. She was able, amazingly, to schedule it for two days later.
Armando showed up right on time at our home to install the component, after first uninstalling the old disposal. He had a difficult time fitting the new disposal onto the existing mounting ring (which was also practically brand-new, which is why we chose not to install the new mounting ring that came with the new disposal). He also was required to install the cord from the old disposal onto the new disposal (we both knew that ahead of time).
There was one point where Armando could have left the new disposal "precariously mounted" and that would have been adequate. However, he remarked that "he wanted to do it right" and continued to wrestle with the installation of the new disposal on the mounting ring until he finally got a good, snug fit. I was VERY impressed with that particular facet of Armando's installation process.
I knew going in that there would be a one-time $50 service charge included in the final bill, and though I am unsure of what that is all about, I paid it without hesitation; the price paid match the price quoted before the installation at the time of scheduling the appointment. My gut reaction is that the service charge allows the company to remain competitive with other similar companies. Other than the one-time service charge, I think that the final bill was fair, charging the amount of labor that was required (2 hours). Part of that time was filled by Armando having to visit our local hardware store to pick up a needed extender tube with clamps because he had to cut off part of the existing tubing to fit the new disposal correctly. Once again, I was very impressed by his desire to "do the job right." He could have left part of the drain tube resting against the disposal, but I was very pleased to see that he ensured that this did not happen (thus preventing the disposal from vibrating against the drain tube during operation).
Finally, Armando did a cleanup of the work area and then checked the new disposal for proper operation. He also gave me some much-needed tips about the use of the new disposal that should extend its life considerably.
Oh . . . I also asked Armando to take a quick look at one of our three toilets that had leaked water onto the floor a couple of weeks ago (we had shut off its water supply so that Armando could then look at it for us). He did a thorough inspection of it and then turned on its water supply. We both watched for any leaks but could find none. Armando told me what to watch for and how to let Handyman Matters know the specifics if it were to leak again. Basically, he restored the use of this toilet to us without any additional charge, etc. by doing a professional re-enabling of its water supply and then monitoring it briefly for leaks.
We will definitely use Handyman Matters again in the future whenever the need arises and were very impressed with their quality of service. We have nothing negative to say about them, which is a rarity in today's business environment. We will also always request that Armando be our service technician for any future visits if he is available.

"We couldn't have asked for better service. Caleb came out to estimate the job and went through everything they would do. He had several recommendations about how to trim several of the trees that would solve our roof problem but which would not endanger the life of the tree. He obviously knew his business, and when he was finished with the review of what needed to be done, he told us it would cost about $1800. That was considerably less than others had told us.
Caleb and his crew showed up right on time to do the work, and spent the next 5 hours doing exactly what they said they were going to do. They did not bring heavy trucks or equipment into the back yard because they didn't want to damage the grass or leave tracks. We were totally impressed with the way they worked and the job they did. They went way out of their way to clean up after they finished and our yard was much neater than it was before they came. The result of their work was that the trees and the yard look fantastic and all of the problems with limbs hitting the roof are gone.
I can't say enough good things about this company. If anyone needs tree work done, look no farther than Earh and Arbor. You will be delighted with the service.

"They should up on time and grinded 3 stumps that they quoted us and while they was here we asked if they could grind a very small one for us. He said sure he would take care of it on his way out. They did an awesome job and will use them again if I ever needed and will recommend them to anyone who needs tree work done. After each stump was grinded he asked if it was low enough and if we was happy with it. I really appreciated that they cared about doing a great job and making the customer happy."

FAQs for sod installation projects in Choctaw, OK

Seeding costs less up front, but you’ll wait months—and sometimes a full season—for the grass to fill in. Sod costs more per square foot, yet it gives you an instant, usable lawn the day it’s installed and needs far less care during the first year.

If speed and early curb appeal matter, the higher sod price is often worth it; if you’re watching every dollar and don’t mind the wait, seed can still be a smart play.

Start by sketching your lawn and breaking it into rectangles or circles. Measure each section, multiply length by width, and then add all the sections together for the total square footage. Standard sod rolls are two feet by 1.5 feet, and one pallet covers 450 square feet.

Divide your total area by 450 to see how many pallets you need, then round up—extras come in handy for cutting around curves or mistakes. Still unsure? A local sod supplier or installer can confirm your math before you order.

Most sod grips the soil within 10 to 14 days. During that stretch, keep foot traffic to a minimum and mow only if the grass gets tall. After two weeks, the roots should be strong enough for light use, but wait six weeks before heavy play or frequent mowing. Giving the grass that short honeymoon helps it anchor firmly and sets the stage for a durable, healthy lawn.

Give your new lawn two full weeks before any foot traffic, then stick to light use only. Hold off on vigorous play, parties, or regular mowing until the six-week mark so the roots can dig deep. Keep watering on schedule and watch for any dry patches. A little patience now means stronger turf and fewer repairs later.

Keep an eye on color, moisture, and even growth. Fresh sod should stay uniformly green; brown spots or gaps hint at dry soil or poor contact. Water deeply at least once a day for the first week (more in hot weather) and back off gradually after the roots take. Avoid heavy foot traffic until the grass feels firmly anchored. Quick attention to trouble spots now prevents costly patches later.

Aim for spring or early fall when daytime temps hover between 55°F and 80°F. Mild weather and consistent moisture help the roots knit quickly. Laying sod in midsummer can stress the grass, while frozen winter soil blocks rooting altogether.

If you must install outside the ideal window, budget extra time for watering and tending to the turf. Choosing the right season makes the job easier and the lawn tougher.
