"Our awful experiences with our new +$40,000 Patio Cover Patios by B&B just became worse (see their review) when the gutter their sub-contractor installed (Above & Beyond Rain Gutters) overflowed like a waterfall not only onto our so-called “rain proof” patio, but also falling on our outdoor electrical, timer, etc. against our bedroom wall We contacted Jordan, Paul’s son who is active with the Company. Paul refused to pay to fix the gutter UNLESS we agreed to remove our review and never mention our experiences with Patios by B&B again, “under threat of libel.” We were so shocked and upset at his refusal to pay unless we met those conditions that we said that was unreasonable to refuse to fix such a major problem without any conditions. So we had to start over finding a new “gutter guy.” It was SO refreshing and wonderful to find Patrick, owner of Bresnahan Rain Gutter Cleaning, who handled almost every single step of our transaction PERFECTLY! 1) On Thursday, Patrick answered our call in person immediately; 2) He came over that same morning to give us an estimate. When he reviewed the situation, he showed us WHY the rain was overflowing the previously installed gutter. THE PREVIOUS GUTTER was INSTALLED IMPROPERLY! When we looked at our roof and gutter, it was immediately clear that Patrick was right and Above and Beyond Rain Gutters had installed the gutter exactly following our roof line (which, like many other houses, is NOT LEVEL)! So, instead of the water flowing AWAY from the house to the downspout, the gutter slanted so the water flowed into the corner near our bedroom!. So THAT was one of the main reasons we were flooded with water in the wrong area. 3) Patrick first offered a less expensive “fix” for the problem (to install a second downspout in the overflow area). We appreciated his considering our expenses, but told him we needed to try and get the previously promised “rain proofed patio” actually rainproof. 4) Patrick then said he could replace the gutter not only with a larger size but, most importantly, one that would be ANGLED so ALL the water would flow AWAY from the house into the downspout the way it was supposed to. THAT is what we wanted. 5) Patrick and his great crew CAME OUT the NEXT MORNING (within 24 hours after our first call contact) and not only installed the gutter EXACTLY the way he described (with the CLEAR angle to the right direction), but ALSO added a small “re-director’ close to the roof that will send some of the excess water that the two roofs combining created near our bedroom away from that one vulnerable corner."

"I had painted a stair rail that needed to be reinstalled in my foyer. I also thought while I had a handyperson there I would see if they would be able to fix a kitchen drawer that a broken off, making it unable to open or close. The guy that came looked at the stair rail and explained what he would do and it sounded reasonable. He also looked at the drawer and indicated it would be a quick fix. He said it would all be done within the hour rate, and he had first time customer "coupon". I agreed and I he went to work. I will say he was nice and efficient.
I quickly became uneasy about how he was handling the stair rail. He was "eye balling" everything, not once measuring anything. He was using mismatched bolts and washers, which I asked him to changed out to at least match. I was a little surprised at the way he was drilling the bolts, going straight down rather than flush with the beam and rail. So, the bolts kind of stuck out. He did a couple bolts so quickly and then asked if it was okay. I expressed concern about bolts and he said he couldn't get his drill any other angle. He got them as low as possible. I felt a bit stuck at that point. While the rail is now secure, I shake my head at the way those bolts look. I am trying to figuring out what to do with them. He did get that kitchen drawer fixed and I was happy to have a working, usable drawer again.
Another concern I had was that I have had several tradesmen in my home in recent months for various projects. This the first company that didn't clean up after themselves. This guy was blowing the sawdust all over the place after he drilled and also trekked in dirt off his boots. The other companies had their techs wearing paper booties or using blankets in areas where they were going to be repeatedly walking in. They also carried dust busters and/or swept up after themselves. I respect that those folks show respect for my home.
While this company did what I asked, the experience wasn't what I expected. I have had to seriously think about whether I would called them again."

"After the large windstorm we had here in Lancaster, CA my roof suffered some major wind damage. I called them and they set me up with someone to quote us for the job. The price seemed fair and once I had signed the contract they scheduled the repair for the end of the week. The work was done well, and the employees were very professional. I was pleased with their punctuality, and the fact that they cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend Western Pacific Roofing Corp. to all my friends and family. my rof."

FAQs for gutters & downspouts cleaning service projects in Cima, CA

You’ll want to clean gutters once or twice a year—in early spring and again in fall—to keep water flowing and avoid pricey leaks. Homes tucked beneath tall trees or hit with heavy debris may need two to four visits instead. Staying on schedule protects your roof, siding, and foundation from costly water damage.

Even with gutter guards, plan on an occasional cleaning—just not as often as homes without guards. Installing gutter guards blocks leaves, but grit and shingle granules still slip through and pile up over time. A quick sweep keeps water moving and stops overflow that can damage your roof or foundation.

Watch for overflowing water, slow or silent downspouts, sagging sections, or debris peeking over the gutter edge. You might also spot water stains, weeds, or an increasing number of ants in certain areas. Any of these red flags means it’s time to call a gutter cleaning pro for service before minor clogs turn into major leaks.

Skip cleanings for too long and gutters overflow, sending water under shingles, down siding, and toward the foundation. The result can be mold, rotted fascia, basement leaks, and repair bills that dwarf the price of a quick cleaning. It can also mean that future cleanings will be more expensive as it will take pros longer to deep clean gutters that are full of heavy debris. Staying on schedule saves money and headaches.

Plan on gutter cleaning service to take an average of one hour for an average single-story home and two to three hours for taller houses. Add extra time if gutter guards need to come off or clogs are packed in. Pros work methodically, clearing every linear foot so water can flow freely again.
