Customers say: Quick response

"David responded to the request for a quote almost immediately and gave me a call and said that he was available to come and look at the job. I sent over some pictures on text and he looked at what needed to be done and gave me a quick quote and explained how he would fix the soap holder back onto the tile. Our house is from 1968 and recognized what had been done in the past and what he needed to do to ensure that it was repaired correctly. David is very straight forward in his communication and courteous. Since it was a quick job and he had an opening he just stayed and completed the job. Fantastic work, strongly recommend his services for tile. "

"Floor looks beautiful! Reliable installers, who accommodated every request. They showed up before 8 every day and worked hard to get this difficult job done as quickly as possible. We requested a Versailles pattern, and it looks gorgeous! They were even able to repair cracked tiles in 2 other bathrooms without damage to surrounding tiles. They use a system to level each tile with the adjacent tiles. Looks better in real life, because pictures are a little dark. Note that they don't replace the floor trim, touch up paint or re-install toilets. The quarter round part of our trim was difficult to remove without breaking because the seams were caulked. So the quarter round isn't back on yet and the paint hasn't yet been touched up in these pictures. But even with the toilet removal they added toilet water solidifying crystals (ie. Oatey LiquiLock) so water wouldn't spill. Thank you, Michael and team!"

"Emmanuel is a 'top-notch' professional. He kept his appointments by showing up on time when he did the estimate and when we hired this company to complete the job. Emmanuel replaced 4 tiles in our kitchen as there was very bad damage. The job he did was absolutely wonderful! My husband and I agree that we would hire him again!!"

FAQs for tile: ceramic and porcelain repair projects in Clayton, NC

People use the terms refinishing, resurfacing, and reglazing interchangeably. Refinishing is a process that repairs old tiles and gives them a fresh new coat of finish. This is also called tile resurfacing or reglazing.

Yes, you can refinish tiles as a DIY project, but it’s important to follow all the steps involved. These include the following:

  1. Clean the tiles or hire a local tile cleaning service to remove all the residue (soap film, oil, grease, and dirt).

  2. Etch the tile to ensure the refinishing solution adheres properly.

  3. Fill in any cracks or chips in the tile.

  4. Recoat the grout.

  5. Repair any missing or damaged caulking where applicable.

  6. Apply the refinishing product, primer, and enamel.

Your newly reglazed tile should last between 10 and 15 years with proper installation. However, higher-traffic areas and moisture may result in a reduced life span. Explore the cost of different tile types to determine which material works best for your home and needs.

Your bathtub and tile refinishing cost will likely seem like a small price to pay for the transformation it offers. Provided your tile and grout are both intact, refinishing will bring a brand-new style at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, most ceramic tile is paintable with specific epoxy or tile paints. However, you’ll want to avoid areas of heavy use or moisture, such as countertops, showers, and bathtubs. Paint can crack, bubble, or wear away over time, especially on floors.
