"Paul, Bethany and the guys have been amazing. They were great to work with the entire time. Our project was large and covered numerous areas (construction, plumbing, electrical, flooring...), and we thought it was going to be a challenge to manage from out of town, as we live 5 hours away. Paul and Bethany gave us great confidence that they would take care of us, and made it very easy. They did everything we asked, on time, and on budget. They even fixed things we didn't think to ask about. When we asked about them, Paul just responded, "we were already working in that area, we're not going to ignore something just because it isn't in the contract". We feel like they treated our home like it was their own. We cannot recommended Laurie Kitchen and Bath highly enough. They are awesome. Feel confident when you work with them. Thanks."

"We had a very good experience with our Bathroom Remodel. Basically, the bathroom was gutted. Dylan was the representative that helped us through the design process. He brought all samples to our home to make choices. He was patient, knowledgeable, and overall, very pleasant to work with. Ben and Kellan performed the work on the project. They were very professional, and extremely hard working! They literally took lunch breaks and other than that worked the entire day without breaking. They were quiet as can be, they didn't have any music playing or even receive private phone calls. They cleaned up after themselves each evening before they left. Extremely pleasant to have in our home. They kept us informed along the way and paid attention to detail. We couldn't be happier with the end results, job well done. I would definitely recommend them or use them again. Steve & Debbie K. "

"I was frustrated that they didn't cover our garbage disposal and they didn't cover the thermostat, otherwise everything we did there was great. I didn't have any problems. It's $50 a month, and then everything is covered. You don't have to pay for people to come out. When our hot water heater broke, we had to pay for the new water heater, but that just for the actual thing, not anything else like the service or installation."

"He was quick to come in and replace my water heater and was VERY pleasant to work with. I was looking forward to hiring him again. I had another job I wanted done so I called him back. He made an appointment and then had to call and reschedule it. He rescheduled twice and then just never called or showed up for the work. He was so nice and did such a great job the first time, I was really looking forward to getting a lot of electrical and plumbing work done around the house... Now I have to hunt for an electrician and plumber all over again..."

"He is the most wonderful man with the most wonderful son. They do exactly what they say they are going to. They charge exactly what they say they are going to charge. They clean up after themselves. It's as if they were never there. They are fabulous. He's a Christian man and he taught his son his craft. He's been a contractor for many years as well as all of his subcontractors. Every contractor in Jefferson City and Columbus respects Jude Markway. He is an amazing contractor. They came, they worked everyday. Every subcontractor they suggested (insulation or drywall subcontractors) are just as wonderful as he is. There is not a better contractor than him. When they came to remove the wall, they were here for 2 hours, made no mess, and did exactly what they came to do and charged exactly what they said they would charge. He's fabulous. They will do as much as you want. I wanted them to do it to the point of unfinished because my son-in-law, I have some rough maple that they will use to finish the beam with. They will do it to any point that you want.
They had worked in another house of ours but that was a couple of years ago. My mother owned a home and it was built in the 50's and the floor had lost it's support in one corner from moisture. The boys got in, they took out the hardwood floor, they put new joists underneath the floor, replaced the floor, quick and simple. There is no way to discribe what an honorable wonderful man he is.
I asked my son, who works as a contractor in Jefferson city, who can build the living room and the sun room on for mom? And then of course, he built the walls for the bathrooms. He cut through and made a door so that there's a bathroom on one side and a bathroom on the other side, it kind of makes a small hall for about half of the kitchen. Then the rest of it is kitchen. And then she has the bedroom in the front. So it is a conventional ranch but we gave her the 2 bedrooms so she now has a sun room, a living room, a bathroom with the full shower on one side and the vanity on the other and then it kind of creates a hall where they cut out the window where the bathroom is. Then you walk into the kitchen. She has a stove, sink, refrigerator. Then she has her bedroom at the front. So, she has all the privacy that she wants but she's right here with us. We worked together with Jude to plan that. You might think you know what you want. I had this big idea. What Jude will do is sit down and ask you, what is your budget and then he's been in the business so long that he can tell you from the slope of your yard or the style of your house or your roof line or whatever, what will work best for you. You don't need someone to draw plans. They work from simple drawings. From their concrete people, who came first, to pour the foundation, from their concrete people to the drywall finisher, they were an amazing group of people. I thought his pricing was extremely reasonable. I mean, he build on a 22 foot room, an 8 foot sun porch, reroofed the house and finished it to drywall and paint for $20,000 and that included roofing the entire house, not just the part that he built on. That was totally reasonable.
I can't even imagine anybody being any more skilled, any better, any more experienced. If they tell you they are going to be there at 3:33 they are there at 3:33. Those are the kindest, most patient, most respectful boys I have ever met in my life."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Clearmont, MO

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
