"For the amount of fence we were getting, the price seemed steep but similar to others. We actually received a quote elsewhere that was a few thousand more dollars for an aluminum instead of steel fence. The quality of the fence is great and they did a nice job with install. It does seem that there is a lack of communication within the company, though. When we had the first person come out and quote us, we told him everything we were looking for, which included our 2 gates to swing IN. They installed one of them to swing out, which isn't a deal breaker, but it isn't ideal for our yard scenario – we have stairs and a hill on the outside of the fence, and the gate swings out almost all the way to the stairs, making it awkward and potentially dangerous to come in and out of. We also never knew when they would be arriving to do each stage of the process (it is apparently 3 stages), so we had poles in our yard for over a week, not knowing when they would be back and arriving without warning. We then had a fence without gates for several days, again not knowing when they would be back to finish or if they thought they were finished."

"I do not generally write reviews unless I'm swayed towards disappointment or extreme satisfaction. To the readers, this review is completely on the satisfaction side of the fence. No pun intended, but fits!!!! LOL I am not affiliated in any fashion with Top Notch Co. and only submit a review as a customer with my opinion. I hired Top Notch in 2004 to build a cedar fence that was 371 linear feet with 52 posts containing three gates. I only point this out as it wasn't a small job in 2004 and I still remember the numbers with the big job it was! That cedar fence was beautiful and lasted two decades providing a place for the pets to hang out and gave us home owners privacy to a path that exists beyond. Fast forwarding 20 years, the old fence did its job and needed to be replaced. I called Top Notch and requested a bid to which I received within a day online. I'm not a first bid kind of guy, so I requested over 7 bids from various companies in the area. Several companies came out, showed off products, and did the normal walk of the property. Being an over researcher, I weighed all my options with cost, materials, and credentials. I hope I can tell you to look no further with the research I've already done, but Top Notch Co., is TOP NOTCH!! I requested them to come out for the final bid to make sure the online quote was legit and the numbers never changed. The crew was extremely friendly, hard working, overly punctual (showed a day early), and left no trace behind. The original owner of the company (Rob) came out to greet me as well after last seeing him 20 years ago on the first fence. Thanks to Top Notch for a job done extremely well! -Dave"

"The project went very well.  Storm damage caused by two trees coming down on two sides of the fence was repaired in 2-3 hours.  The workers reviewed all needed work from the estimate prior to beginning the work.  They even volunteered to replace a top rail from another section of the fence, not included in the estimate, that had been bent in a storm many years before.   The workers were very thorough, did not damage any plants or grass around the damaged areas and cleaned up after themselves.  The workers were knowledgeable and polite.   They made sure everything was nice and straight!  Everything looked very nice when they were finished.  The workers were approximately an hour late from the start time I had been given.  I called and was told they had gotten a late start.  Their good work made up for the lateness.

"Good! Rich (salesman) was great...honest, prompt, professional and friendly. Price was excellent but had to wait longer for installation than many other vendors...my choice to wait. However, we waited longer than reasonable for project completion. Many reasons given for delay. Owner (Jake) installed fence and did an excellent job when installed."

He made sure we were informed on the products available and didn't push us towards or try to sell us on anything we didn't want. "Ed and his crew were awesome to work with. He called back within minutes and we had his bid an hour or two later. After 4 other bids we ultimately went with Ed because he helps his crew on the roof. They do excellent work and the clean-up was great too. Roof was done in two days. Highly recommend Ed."

"After getting a bid from Cady this summer, I hired them to do some work on my house (clean gutters, install gutter covers I'd purchased and fix a piece of siding). They agreed to do the work on September 10 at 1:00 p.m. They didn't show, and they didn't return my calls over the next couple of days. I felt they wasted my time. I gave them an F rating here and moved on to look for other handyman companies. Except that finding another company turned out to be easier said than done (the ones I contacted didn't serve my area or didn't want to do work on a 2-story house or were booked for months). A week later, my contact at Cady called to apologize. He said he'd gone out of town and the people back at the office dropped the ball. He offered to do the work for a reduced fee. I hadn't hired another company and was starting to wonder if I'd find one before winter, so I agreed to hire them. Two workers showed up as promised on September 21. They did a great job and were knowledgeable and personable. My husband and I were very happy with the work, and we would hire them again.
