"It was a shaky start with some unforeseen obstacles. However, after things settled down Bill got to work and met the deadline that I had originally set. The paint came out great. I needed 2 living rooms and a dining room painted, along with the ceilings in each room. They were able to complete everything in the timeframe given, even after my wife changed her mind on the one of the walls that had already been painted. I had movers coming the next day and Bill even offered to come back the day after the movers to fix any scuffs or scratches that occurred. "We built our house 24 years ago and acted as our own General Contractors, hiring a foreman and a crew, engaging in detailed oversight on all of the work. We are artists and have a high level of craftsmanship in our own work and in what we expect of others. After some 20 years, we realized that we needed to re-stucco the entire exterior of the building (~ 4000 sf) and wanted to address several problems that had accrued since the original construction. We got 6 or 7 bids and found that it was important to compare apples to apples, because some contractors didn’t specify exactly what they would include and others just didn’t do as much. The final bids that we compared included a preliminary coat of Wall-Ease, meshing the entire building, and a final color-coat, as well as extra protection around the windows and parapets. With the bids that incorporated all of this, James was the most competitive and we also were impressed with how competent and responsive he seemed according to the reviews on this site. He was able to get to our job in a timely way that worked with our schedule and with the weather. Overall we are very happy with the job and things turned out well. We had a few problem areas that we wanted addressed and in the end all of this was repaired and attended to. The guys on the crew were all very experienced and had a high skill level, included repairing as well as stucco work. However, we had a few frustrations beginning with the initial bid which didn’t cover some areas we had discussed. We got a revised bid, but if we had not been on the job site, overseeing exactly what they were doing, we might not have had things attended to that were in the revised bid. The crew was moving ahead, not doing everything included in the bid, until we intervened. That said, the guys were attentive to our concerns and James was very responsive when we pointed out what wasn’t being addressed and that we weren’t happy with how everything was going. In the end he addressed all of our concerns, was always responsive to our calls, and the job came out really well. James and his crew know their stuff and are competent and experienced and respond well to feedback and intervention."

"We originally purchased a Big Deal for $99 from another provider who was unable to perform the work because they were not certified to work on a pre-manufactured home.  Peter was willing to accept the same deal and scheduled us immediately because we had one entire wall in our home without electricity.  It's summer in New Mexico and it happened to be the wall with the Air Conditioner.   Needless to say his urgency was appreciated.  He arrived on time and immediately started troubleshooting the issue.  Once he verified the breaker needed to be replaced he had to drive to four different stores to get the parts.  He was still able to diagnose the issue, get the parts, replace and test all of the circuits in the two hour time frame.  It was unbelievably refreshing to have a contractor who was so prompt, efficient and competent in getting the job done.  I would absolutely love to have him come back and take care of some switches and fixtures that need some tlc.

"Mariano Aragon did a fantastic job of repairing some seriously damaged areas in my kitchen and guest bathroom. After the plumbing repairs were complete both rooms were a disaster area. Mariano came to the rescue, rebuilt all the structural damage and did beautuful refinishing of the plaster and and a masterful job of marrying the new tiles he replaced with the existing tiles that weren’t damaged. I am more than happy with the final results! Mariano was cheerful, thoughtful and completely reliable through out the days of his restoration project for me. I highly recommend him for his excellent, inventive and superior work!"

"Sergio arrived punctually and analyzed the materials he would need for the repairs. He went to a local near-by hardware store and purchased the necessary sheet rock, which I paid for as it was an extra item. In order to get at the damage, he had to pull off a large 4x4 section of peg-board that itself had been torn. We discussed what might be done to replace,the peg-board but made no decision at that time. I left him to do the work, but when I returned, he had removed the peg-board so carefully that it could be remounted and used again, over the now completely repaired and re plastered damage! He also had spied a crack in the garage ceiling that I had overlooked, and repaired it with tape at his own initiative! Impressive work! I would call upon D&R again for this kind of repair. They also do other kinds of construction work, such as replacing cracked sidewalk or worn driveways."

"I contacted the company and had a list of what needed to done. I knew the cost was $45 an hour, and I estimated the work could be finished in 1 or 2 hours at a maximum. The company sent two workers, instead of just one. I didn't expect at all. I didn't hear that I'd need two people, especially since I gave the list of what needed to be done. They was supposed to be here at 1pm, and the boss called to say they were running behind. He said they would arrive between 2-3pm. They called at 3:07pm to say they were lost, and and arrived at 3:20pm. When he presented the bill, they said that they arrived at 3pm, but they did not. They arrived at 3:20. After two hours, the men left, and claimed that all the work was done. All of the work on the list, including the pantry door, were supposedly fixed. Later that night, I went to slide the door and it didn't work. When they gave the receipt it said I owed $192.60. He said to me, it was $45 dollars an hour, but it was for two guys, for two hours each. This is very frustrating. When I called the owner, and explained the work, I didn't hear that he was going to send two people. He insisted that it had to be two guys, and they both have to paid equally. The job was done, but it was not done well. The pantry door still isn't sliding very well. Can't open it with out damaged the top of the door. i was trusting that it would be fine, but it's not. When you're working with a company or purchasing offers on Angie's List you need to know how many people are coming and what the price is per person. You want to be very clear with what your getting. For instance, I didn't hear that it was $45 per person, per hour. I didn't hear him when he said he would be sending two men."
