"I contacted the Guardian Chimney Sweep on College Park in The Woodlands. Excellent job and very professional. He cleaned out our whole fireplace and cleaned the gas line because the fire was turning on and off. He was impressively thorough and offered tips on where to clean if our issue stops happening again. He also cleaned our dryer vent to the outside at a discounted rate for booking two services. Our vent ended up being clogged so I'm very thankful it was thoroughly cleaned before a fire started."

Of course, the comprehensive cleaning cost nearly 4x what I purchased through Angie's list. I did not have time or patience to argue, so I accepted the price, but it left a bad taste. No point in purchasing a deal through Angie's List, and felt like I was upsold."

"I recently had my heating/a-c unit replaced, but not the ductwork. Since my house is very dusty, I decided to get the air ducts cleaned. The a/c company I used recommended Steamatic to clean the air ducts and to clean the dryer vent. The price quoted over the phone seemed high to me, but I decided to give them a try. The guys showed up on time, introduced themselves and gave me an idea of what they would be doing. I showed them around and told them when the new system was installed. I was pleasantly surprised when the crew leader told me that the cost would be over $200 less than quoted over the phone since they did not need to remove and pressure wash the fans because they were new. The work took about four hours and they appeared to do a thorough job. The workers were very nice/polite young men. I asked if they could show me what the vents looked like so they took photos on their cell phones. They told me that the amount of dirt in my air ducts was actually not too bad for an older home (in comparison to others of similar age) and there was no and quot;growthand quot; that would have required further work and expenses. Overall a great experience and I will have more peace of mind that the air circulating in my home will now be cleaner. <br />"
