"I couldn’t be happier! From the time Gary came to do my roof inspection to the final paperwork, everything went to smoothly. Gary gave me such honest advice and feedback. When the crew showed up to replace the roof, they were on time and worked so hard. Finished in the same day, including cleanup. Gutters were installed the next afternoon. It’s now two months later and all my neighbors are either still waiting for materials or have many issues with their installs. So glad I went with JR Roofing and avoided all those headaches. I hope I won’t be needing another roof anytime soon, but if I do, I will be using JR Roofing again without question. So happy!"

"Excellent to work with through the entire process. In addition to the roof inspection, claim filing assistance and actual roof replacement work, Roof Corp project manager served as the overall managing contractor for us which simplified the insurance process and included good recommendations of and coordination with sub contractors for related repairs."

"We are very satisfied with our experience with using AE as our general contractor for the repairs to our house following the catastrophic hail storm that hit Fountain, Colorado on 13 June 2018, and would recommend them to anyone. They were doing the same work for a neighbor whose judgement I trust because, like me, he is very picky and exacting. Tony Turner offered to give us a free estimate, and we ended up signing a contract with AE. They are experienced in dealing with the insurance companies and inspectors. Tony was present when the USAA claims inspector came, and helped me make sure everything was completely documented. The initial settlement estimate from USAA was enough to cover all repairs, and we didn't have to argue for additional money. We got a new roof which is not only far better than our old one, but better than the new roofs many of our neighbors have. The materials have a true 50-year transferable warranty. We got all new windows which were far better than the original ones, new gutters, exterior paint, new garage door, and refinished our fence and deck. Everything was done well, in a timely manner, and within the budget of our claim settlement funds. Every item was replaced or repaired better than it was before, which has increased the resale value of our house. One huge advantage of using AE as a general contractor for the work covered by our insurance claim is that we did not have to pay any costs up front for materials, etc., which we couldn't have done. It took 6 months for our mortgage company to release our claim settlement funds, but AE was able to wait to be paid in full in one lump sum. The fact that they are an established and reputable company whose main office is in Denver means that, unlike many of the fly-by-night roofers and contractors who flocked to the area after the storm, they will be here to stand behind their work, including that of their subcontractors."

"Don came by to do an estimate the day after we called. He did a thorough job crawling around the attic to assess the work that needed to be done. He even told us that we didn't need some of the work we thought we did, and saw other things that needed to be added -- at a price that was LESS than our original estimate!! Heartland worked with us to find the perfect shingle, then proceeded to do the work in a timely, professional manner. We recommend Heartland for all your roofing needs and would definitely hire them again."

"We went through months and months of a bad experience with an insurance claim but R.D construction was able to get it all resolved and get our home fixed and finally looking like new. We were beyond satisfied with not only the work and communication from the team but also how soon they got the work done. They were so attentive to us and gave us plenty of time to choose the colors we ended up loving. I would hate to have hail damage again but if it happens we definitely know who we’ll go with for repairs. Completely recommend!"

"Really great. Michael the owner is dedicated to excellence in every aspect of his company. Michael took very good care of us, as did his office staff, and the roofers themselves. Michael immediately saw that there was no vent thru roof for the upstairs bath fan as we have no attic. He helped saved us from a potential future problem and added expense as we are selling our home. Everyone was so nice and respectful. His prices are competitive and fair. Roofing was delivered. Home was roofed in one day. They cleaned up everything. You never knew they were there. The roof looks fantastic. Michael came back personally to do the final walkthrough and he did some caulking for us (he didn't have to) so the wasps wouldn't go under the flashing. Michael is the best. "This is the second time I had my roof done in the past twenty years; my first roofer retired so I needed to look for a new contractor.    I got estimates from a number of companies.  All American Exteriors wasn't the lowest bid but they were very close;  I chose the company based on the estimated cost, the number of positive reviews, the length of time they've been in business and their rating on the BBB site, and in the end, their proactive response and interactions with me during the bidding process.
The company owner, Adrian, was the initial contact for the estimate.  He came to the house to look at the situation and ask/answer questions.  Adrian wasn't much of a "schmoozer/salesman" type, and certainly not aggressive in pushing me to commit to his company before I as ready to, which I appreciated.  He provided a quite thorough description of the work to be done, and provided a complete written estimate very quickly.  He was also very patient in addressing numerous questions about the available options for the roofing job, even while not pushing me to commit to his company right away.
My house is relatively small, but I had a dire need to get the work done by a given deadline.  Adrian and the company office manager were very proactive in scheduling the job.  On the day that the job was scheduled, the crew showed up very early, ready to go.  Because I needed to get the job done ASAP, the owner/project manager was not there first thing (he was getting another job going too), but that didn't concern me because he was "squeezing my job in at a very busy time", and  since he was reachable by cell phone and was going to come to the job later in the morning.
The only snafu in the job was with the boom truck delivering the shingles.  An issue with the driveway and the location of a neighbor's valued tree precluded letting the boom truck drive up on the driveway and load the shingles directly onto the roof.
The roofing crew wasn't happy about having to carry bundles of shingles up to the roof, but I felt that it wasn't that big a problem (not that many bundles to carry up, a small one story ranch, and a very cool day).  While the roofing crew supervisor was very courteous in expressing the crew's displeasure in having to carry the materials up to the roof, I was a bit concerned that the crew might be less motivated to provide quality in their work - but that didn't hold to be true.
Adrian came over to the job later in the morning, and again in the afternoon, to check in on how things were going & I assume to provide some direction to the crew.  Adrian and the office manager (Elizabeth) were very responsive in working with the city to get my inspection scheduled and completed.  The city said pictures would suffice but I insisted that the inspector come to my property and do a walk through on the roof itself - and that had to be coordinated with the roofing company because they had to provide the ladder to get up on the roof.
The job was done in mid-July and as I write this a few months later, so far so good.  I was pleased with the whole process, the cost, the quality of the materials and the work done, and with the professionalism/response of the company owner, employees, and sub contracting crew.   If there's a place to nominate this company to the Angie's List "hall of fame" I will do so.

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in Colorado Springs, CO

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
