"Javier Ramos Landscaping LLC did a fantastic job installing the new sprinkler system. The newly laid sod was peeled back and the trenches were all hand dug. Javier put the system under the driveway without the need to cut it. It took Javier and his crew 1 day to complete the sprinkler system. The lawn was back to normal and no sign of the trenching exists. I would highly recommend Javier Ramos Landscaping LLC."

"John and his wife Machelle were fantastic on their response to us and up front with the estimate to complete the system. They gave us a date and time and were there when they said they would be there, no waiting around for them. Best response from a contractor we've had since living in Sumter. John showed us where he could put the sprinkler heads to provide the yard the best coverage and was very attentative in making sure his crew knew where electrical lines and pipes were located for our pool to prevent any damage. After the system was installed, we found a different line leaking and John was very responsive in getting out to the house to check it and determine it was from a previous zone we did not plan to use and he disconnected the timer from that zone. I plan to use them again in the fall when we redo our front flower beds! <br />"

"Pinkerton breached our contract two weeks prior to our wedding and left our entire back yard in disarray, to include a pile of rubble that was a half-built koi pond. The koi pond was not installed correctly; the pump was on the wrong side and the water flow of the pond would not function properly. Further, there was a leak hidden under the pile of rubble and the water kept draining out - (we did not even know about it; Jay found it). With our wedding day rapidly approaching, we asked Jay if he could help us and he did. He had to completely tear down and rebuild the pond; it is now a beautiful work of art that we were so proud to show our wedding guests. Jay worked us into his already full schedule, working tirelessly weekends and evenings, to make it everything we dreamed of. Jay essentially saved our wedding and we couldn't be more grateful. Additionally, he offered to allow us to pay on a monthly basis because we had to spend so much money to hire additional contractors to finish the work we'd already paid Pinkerton to do before he breached our contract. We would recommend Jay McCormick's services to anyone without hesitation. Jay is doing what he loves to do; he has a passion for it, and it shows in his work. We are forever grateful and we will continue to request his services for our routine pond maintenance."

"Let start with the fact that my yard looks MARVELOUS now. <br /> I really really really liked the owner and had complete confidence in him.  We first spoke on January 3rd because I wanted to get this done before  the season started.  It took 4 visits and 3 months before they started work and in that time the estimate doubled.   On April 3 or thereabouts, the owner was out of the country but assured me he had fully informed his manager.  <br /> On the very first day right after they arrived, one of their guys plugged a household extension cord into the outside outlet and blew a set of breakers.  There were painters here at the time and one of them saw what was happening and told the kid not to do it.  He was ignored, the breakers blew, and when I went out and asked who did what to blow up my cable, the manager very aggressively INSISTED they had just arrived and hadn't done ANYTHING.  Now, I have two witnesses (and 2 cameras) to what happened and yet the culprit just ducked and backed away.  He was more afraid of his manager than that I'd drag out the painters and point him out.  <br /> Nobody should be that afraid of his manager.   I let it go. <br /> After that unpromising start things went reasonably well and the bulk of the work was done in 2 half days and one full day.  I was dismayed that they left all of the yard waste in a pile by my NEIGHBOR'S driveway to be picked up by the city a week later, but I let that go, too.  Finishing up required repeated follow-up visits, emails and calls because a number of small things were forgotten, a couple of roses were removed that weren't supposed to be, a couple of ivys were left that were supposed to have been removed and my perception of a repaired lawn is not, apparently, theirs.   I finally just called in another landscaper to finish up. <br /> I recommend that you insist on a  fully illustrated plot plan with your specific wants literally spelled out and have it countersigned by whoever does the work. <br />"

FAQs for water feature fountain or waterfall installation projects in Columbia, SC

Installing a drinking fountain costs between $500 and $1,000 for indoor models and an average of $3,000 for outdoor units, including installation. The cost depends on the design, materials, and professional labor involved, with service rates ranging from $45 to $200 per hour. Investing in a drinking fountain can enhance your space's functionality and aesthetic appeal.

A water fountain increases home resale value by elevating curb appeal and enhancing overall property aesthetics. A well-cared-for fountain that matches the home’s design and functions flawlessly boosts buyer confidence and market desirability. Routine maintenance and professional installation ensure proper performance, ensuring that your fountain benefits both daily enjoyment and long-term resale value.

Maintaining a fountain costs $25 to $50 per month for basic upkeep and $50 to $150 for professional deep cleaning or servicing. A fountain of any size requires routine draining, thorough cleaning of the pump, tubing, and surface, plus regular inspections for wear, algae, or mineral deposits. Annual maintenance and sealing further extend its lifespan and enhance its appearance.

How much power your water fountain uses depends on the pump’s size and operating schedule. Smaller fountains use less than 10 watts per day, while larger cascade pumps can require up to 1,000 watts. This translates to an average increase of around $25 per month on your electric bill.

Water fountain installation takes anywhere from a few hours to several days. The installation timeline depends on the fountain’s design, site preparation requirements, and the involvement of professional plumbing and electrical services. Prefabricated water features are set up in a few hours, while custom designs require additional structural and aesthetic modifications and take much longer.
