"Totally understood the work to be done on a 150 year old post and beam barn. Was able to develop solutions for unforseen problems that were encountered. Adhered to the original estimate with some additional work incorporated at an acceptable increase. Very pleasant and professional to deal with. Highly recommend and would hire again."

"AIS removed an old room and deck and built us a large outdoor room with two pergolas including a large TV wall, fireplace, hot tub, outdoor kitchen, granite counter tops, custom lighting throughout. They did an excellent job! Parks and Aubrey was great to work with and always had good ideas when we needed them. Rodney's crew did the custom framing and always accommodated any changes that came along. They're good people to work with. You can't go wrong using AIS on your next project."

"Tim did a superb job of tearing out the old, putting in the new and repairing the active wet spots in the kitchen ceiling. I feel that his estimates were fair and reasonable and the craftsmanship was a world of difference from the previous subpar job I had done. He is very timely, works consistently and stays on schedule. I can't say enough how happy I am with his end result on this project! I'll be having him back to do another bathroom soon!"

"Premier came through in a desperate situation. The crew was professional, courteous, and prompt. Had a full basement/kitchen/two bathroom reno and absolutely love the results! We will most definitely contact them for future work and we are telling everyone we know."

Customers say: Terrific value

"We had John come out for a kitchen remodel. After months of discussing options and budget, he took measurements (Nov 2025) and told us exactly what cabinets and materials to order, instructing us to reach out once everything was purchased to get on his schedule (March 2026), with some additional discussion in January. We followed his guidance and spent over $8,000 on materials. When we reached out, it became clear there had been a miscommunication. We were under the impression we would be scheduled after purchasing everything and were completely fine waiting our turn. The situation then turned into poor communication, which felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. He later apologized, but by that point we no longer felt comfortable moving forward. Prior to this, everything had been going smoothly, so this was disappointing?especially after investing that amount with a baby on the way. We recommend confirming scheduling before purchasing materials."

"Lenny was very knowledgeable and professional. He showed up on time and performed all of his work when he said he would. We really appreciated his approach to his work, very neat and tidy and with a true standard of care. We have other projects at our house that we will bring Lenny back to perform. We are very happy and would recommend him wholeheartedly to others."

"I feel lucky McNeal Construction was the first company to respond in Angi. There was some structural damage due to termites and Matthew of McNeal's did an excellent job of repairing the structure and designing and remodeling the bathroom. I'd like to leave photos but don't see anywhere to do that."

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Columbus, OH

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
