"I had been shopping around for a fair and reasonable price while not sacrificing the quality of work done. It took over a month to meet with numerous painters, many with ludicrous almost comical proposals and/ or lack of commitment to the project. I was about to give up and paint my house myself. Then James from JAR painting contacted me and came out and did a quick walk around and gave me a fair estimate on the spot. He was straightforward, direct, and they did an exceptional job. James and his entire crew are professional, experienced and completed the job in a reasonable time frame. Excellent people to work with! James has a member in his crew who did an exceptional job on some rotted wood in several places that needed to be replaced. They saved me from having to replace a window due to a rotted bottom frame. If you are in need of your interior or exterior of your house painted give them the opportunity to give you an estimate. You’ll be happy with the result! "

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Commerce-township, MI

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
