"The gentleman came out promptly & checked out drains. He also checked outside drain. We had also called the County who pulled up while he was outside. He stayed a bit & advised me it may be on County's side but to call him if I still had a problem. He did NOT CHARGE ME & was totally honest with me. I appreciate his kindness & honesty; and no bill. :)"

"Roy was responsive, making a visit the day we called about the drained pipes. He called in advance of arriving, and was careful with his tools to avoid any unnecessary mess. He also wore booties to protect the floor. Best of all, he was careful about testing the lowest-cost solution before bringing in larger tools and incurring more charges. Within a half hour he'd addressed all the leaks and was on his way.

"Josh was prompt, professional, and very knowledgable. The same goes for the guys on his team. They solved my blocked main sewer line problem quickly and literally at a tenth of the price another company had suggested it would cost."

"After getting a quote, it took a few weeks to get the part and get it to the location. It wasn't clear what services were going to be performed after the initial quote. I pointed out the problem, they said there was more work to be done. I agreed to a price. When the work was completed, I may have thought there was more to be done for the price quoted. Should have got the quote in writing after the initial visit to understand what was going be be done. The final invoice vague."

"We are new to the area and had a clogged drain so it was an emergency call....at 5pm and they put us on the schedule first thing next morning. Since they were so helpful with that, we called them to switch out three old toilets from the house we had bought..Jesse, the owner, was finishing the job in about three hours and all done with care, expertise and friendly service. This company will go far once the word gets out....simply one of the best already!!"

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Compton, MD

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
