"Southeastern Landscape was employed to design and install an exterior drainage system to prevent storm water from collecting in an area between our home and detached garage where there was no practical means of removing significant ponding. This undrained water eventually made its way into the wrapped and environmental conditioned crawl space area under the main house. "

"Isaac agreed to core aerate and provide an overseed to my lawn as requested and did not disappoint. Most of your professional landscapers require that you use their grass for any overseeding projects, but in my case I had already purchased a seed of preference and Isaac was willing to accommodate. I had also personally did the first dethatching of the lawn 1 week prior. Isaac was very responsive with giving me a quote, which was fair. In fact, I ended up calling him back days later to see if he could do the job about a week earlier than what we had originally scheduled and thankfully he was accommodating in meeting my wish during one of the busiest times of the fall season. He arrived on time, responsive via text and phone. He was professional and efficient in making sure of keeping unwanted grass seed out of the shrub and tree beds. Attention to detail was awesome. Nice work. I highly recommend his services."

"We hired this Contractor for multiple projects to run concurrent but after the first two decided that this company was not for us. We started with a French drain and grading for water mitigation which took almost two months with our driveway being tore up. Still have water pooled up by the house and French drain had to be repaired twice before it was ever finished. Then they painted the exterior of our house which took a month and a half and the painters were told to only paint the wood. When we questioned that they painted the rest but painted over vines on our house. Our major complaint was they have no management structure, schedule, planning, oversight or communication with their crew or the home owners. I would not use this company again for any project. We had no communication until it was time to pay. "

FAQs for excavation major grading or resloping projects in Concord, NC

You can excavate in winter, but frozen soil slows down the process and increases labor costs. Many grading companies offer discounted rates during their off-season, so ask for a winter quote and weigh the savings against a longer timeline. A brief conversation with a local professional will help determine whether cold-weather excavation is suitable for your site.

Foundation digs can be completed in as little as three days or take up to three weeks. Soil density, access, weather, and hidden obstacles all play a role, so every timeline is a bit different. Have your contractor walk the site and flag any potential issues early—clear expectations help keep both the schedule and budget on track.

You must always call 811 before excavating. Dial 811 a few days in advance so that utility crews can mark underground lines and ensure the area is safe for digging. Hitting a buried cable or gas pipe can be both dangerous and expensive, and many municipalities will not issue permits unless the site is flagged correctly.

To remove soil during an excavation project, your crew will load the spoil into dump trucks with a backhoe or excavator, haul it to a disposal site, and return for the next load. Efficient hauling keeps the work zone clear and the project moving. Depending on the site and volume of osil, multiple trucks may rotate to maintain a steady flow.
