"I have used Mason Works on a previous project in 2017 (new stone wall and front step repair) and was very happy with their work. This project was to replace driveway including matching previous stone wall, add granite curbing to right side and complete replacement of existing asphalt. Stone wall is great, granite curbing is great but does not fully match in size or color (they explained that this is typical when ordering granite) and driveway really is just OK. They use a more course asphalt mi than you'd typically see and they explained that it lasts longer. My issues with driveway: • Driveway not evenly smooth, quite a few rougher spots • Section on side of driveway that you can see it's not evenly rolled • They said to wait 5 days to park on it and I waited 3 weeks instead but there are several tire marks already from parking on it"

"Performed extensive masonry work on our 100 year old colonial revival house. Displayed superior technical knowledge. They know their materials. Hard working and professional. Rebuilt 7 brick steps of lower front entryway staircase adding bluestone treads and salvaged antique balusters as posts for handrails. Completely rebuilt a brick portico landing, 5 circular (radius) steps and side wall at front door. Included a footing which had never existed before. Lack of footing had caused constant problems in the past. Laid porcelain tile on landing and attached salvaged wrought iron handrails. At back of house rebuilt 2 small brick stairways adding bluestone treads and salvaged antique balusters as posts for handrails. We the customer purposely and gladly chose expensive brick that had "old brick" look to blend with brick structures not being worked on. Extensively pointed an 88 foot long, 4 foot high fieldstone retaining wall, rebuilt one crumbling driveway corner and repaired 4 wall caps. Power washed chimney."

"I met with Gary in October to discuss adding a granite cap to my outdoor fire pit. The original fire pit stone and mortar had deteriorated. Gary was able to work with a stone quarry and have them create a round sold granite cap to go over the existing stone. The granite was delivered and placed on top of the pit today as he had to drive a truck across my lawn and we wanted to be sure the ground was frozen. He will return in the spring to finish the work by applying mortar under the granite and he will also do some stone wall repair at that time. While this project has been long and slow, Gary always quickly responded to my text and phone messages. The cost was more than I would like, but material costs are very high everywhere right now. I will definitely work with Gary again."

"We had a fantastic experience working with Derek and James. We had a number of small projects around our house that we were trying to get done. Derek came out within a day or two of my phone call to survey the work we needed and walk us through the process and gave us an estimate for the work the next day or so. All the work turned out great, from the smallest project, installing a screen door outside, to the bigger projects, knocking down a wall to install a pocket door and doing a complete renovation of an old dirty garage. The team was fantastic - they were great about letting us know when they would be there and the work that would be done that way. They were always careful to clean up. When i noted some additional clean up that needed to be done, James came out right away the next morning and cleaned up. As expected with an old house, we encountered some unexpected issues requiring additional work - James and Derek were totally upfront about the pricing, why it needed to be done, and showed us exactly what they would be doing. I really appreciated the constant communication, upfront pricing, and commitment to the job. At the end of the job there were a couple more things that just needed to be touched up, and they were attended to right away without much follow up. Will certainly hire again for other jobs."

"They removed an old weak bricks with concrete cap. Installed a new stainless steel cap with removable top for chimney cleaning. The new cap is mortared in and is very sturdy. When Jeffry left my yard was cleaner then when he arrived. He did 2 chimney caps and was done in 2 hours."
