"This was the best experience with a company EVER!!! Very responsive, gave estimate, did not try to "upsell"; treated me as well as they would have their own mom! Unused, unnecessary materials were refunded in the final invoice; I did not have to pay for more than was necessary to facilitate the repairs. Also took advantage of roof maintenance, since it was offered to me at a reasonable price. Both services were done in a timely, clean, mannerly, professional manner. I can recommend JW Roofing without reservation."

"Good News Roofing is a company who has earned their 5 star reviews based on professionalism, honesty, excellent work ethics whose employees take pride in their work. Our project Mgr. Brook Vallejo went above and beyond our expectations. She was readily available and was extremely conscientious of her work. Friendly, knowledgeable, professional but most of all a wonderful and sincere individual. She and her team of installers came and were on time and did a great job. No mess left just a gorgeous new roof. We highly recommend this company and Brook Vallejo and her team."

"Aaron is a star. After two supposedly professional roofers gave me ridiculous quotes and told me that even if I chose them to do the work, THEY WOULD NOT GUARANTEE IT! I read Arron's reviews and figured why not, what could I lose. Aaron was prompt, professional and took the time to explain everything. He said that my roof had minor, minor hail damage, and did not need to be fixed at all. Another company wanted to do a "maintenance" for me to the tune of $650.00 with no guarantee. Aaron told me that I have an asphalt roof and they don't need yearly maintenance. Aaron also told me that in 2-3 years, if no major storms hit before, I will probably have to replace my roof. A decent roofer who is honest and helpful. I wish I could make him number one on Angie's list. He deserves it. In 2-3 years I will call Aaron and have him replace my roof. I would be a fool to call anybody else!"

"Fantastic job! Brandon and his team went to work removing the old roofing materials and installing the new roof relatively quickly—and, more importantly—with an emphasis on getting it done right. I appreciate the care given prior to work, during, and up to final walk around to ensure all was correct. Well done, gang!"

"We had our roof replaced today by Storm Roofing and I have to say, from the initial estimate to the completed job, the professionalism and friendliness was one of the main reasons we went with the company. Alfred Trevino is extremely knowledgeable about the process from the insurance aspect to explaining all needs and steps for the roof replacement. They were timely and did a thorough clean up when the job was finished. I will recommend this company to anyone who needs roof repair or replacement."

"Steve determined I had no issues with my roof, that the problem was with a deck cover attached to my roof.  He was very thorough and professional.  He gave me a quote to do the repair work, but recommended I contact the contractor who built the deck cover first.  He went over the whole situation with me, put his ladder up in order to access the whole situation and didn't charge me a penny.  Thanks Steve!! <br />"

"My roof was leaking into my living room! I called Vertical Roofing at 2am, because I just didn't know what else to do. A guy named Brandon called me back 3 hours later. He came and patched the roof the same day. He didn't ask for a bill or a contract he just wanted to stop the leak. I was grateful that I offered him breakfast. The rest of the process was just fine. The final roof roof a few weeks to put on but, we were so impressed because this is clearly a company with people who take care of people."

"It went great. It only took about 3 days, but the crew led by Clay worked around our schedules to keep any interference to a minimum. Cleaned up completely when done and never new they were there. After several good rainfalls, it such a relief not to see the wet spots on our ceiling tiles. Best part is about 3-4 weeks later they sent our a roof engineer to inspect the work. He saw a couple of spots that need some work and sent the crew back out to complete the work. Great company and great service"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Converse, TX

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
