"Comfort Systems came out for routine a/c maintenance and noticed the (aged) furnace had holes in it and was leaking carbon monoxide. They worked with us to recommend a replacement furnace that was a quality product within a price range we were comfortable with. They were very open minded....no pressure. They actually gave us 5 estimates and configurations to choose from, including an option to remove and install a newsw A/C unit at the same time. After installing the new heater, heatercoil and dicts, the gave me the afternoon to paint the wall vents in a color to match my decor, and came back the next day to install those, finish the A/C maintenance (at no charge) and arrange for the city inspector. they are great. highly recommended whether for a service call, routine maintenance or a new system (heat or air) installation!
"

"Update - General Manager called and discussed the situation. I think the whole problem was a misunderstanding between the original call taker and myself. I was told the $49 fee was to diagnose the reverse osmosis system; however the $49 fee was a service call charge to look into diagnosis. After explanation the manager understood and made it right.

I have plumbers that I usually use, but they don't work on reverse osmosis (RO) systems. I bought a house as a foreclosure, so had no history on RO but it wasn't working - no water flowing from tap. I called around a few plumbers in Wichita, and Ben Franklin was the only one that said they work on RO and that they could do a $49 diagnosis fee to tell me what was wrong with it. I figured $49 was worth it to find out what was wrong and if it'd be worth repairing. They were very good with scheduling, set a 3 hour window and gave me a call 30 minutes prior to plumber showing up at house. Pretty much as soon as the plumber opened drawers underneath sink to look at RO he started telling me how there was no way to know what is causing problem - could be needle valve supply, could be RO filters, could be any number of other things. Then he proceeded to tell me that this would require a "level 2" diagnosis fee which was $300 to tell me anything at all about the system or if he could repair it!!! I asked why his front desk/dispatcher told me that they could diagnose RO for a $49 fee if it actually cost $300? He called the general manager to ask if they could waive the $49 diagnosis fee. He refused to waive the fee or talk to me. So, I feel as though they mislead me into thinking the RO system would be diagnosed for $49 when they knew from the beginning it would take $300 to diagnose; charged me $49 to tell me nothing and waste my time."

"Origianally a co-worker recommended Pipe Dreams for a plumbing job at my mothers home. I was pleased with the work that was performed and intended to have them do some work at my home. In the mean time my sister and her husband were needing some plumbing work done at their home, so I recommended Pipe Dreams to them. They were also pleased with the work done.
In March of this year I hired them to replace two sump pump basins in the crawl space of our home. Including the work mentioned above; they return phone calls, arrive at the appointed time and do a very good job of cleaning up afterwards. They perform the work in a timely manner and are polite and courteous. Because I didn't find Pipe Dreams on Angies List I wasn't aware of the 10 percent senior discount. We would like to think it wasn't offered because Brett didn't think we qualified......at least that's what we prefer to think. Ha Ha
"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Conway Springs, KS

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
