Materials used are all cedar wood, three 8x8 posts. They also put several curved brackets on between the posts and beam, and three-step caps on the top and the bottom of the posts, which makes the patio cover look pretty solid and also aesthetic. The gable part is attached to the existing roof above my breakfast room, and flat part is against the exterior wall of my living room. Since the roof shingles they used are exactly same as the existing roof, the cover looks like a part of my house.
