"strongly recommend never using Home Genius Exteriors (HGE) for any home project. What was promised as a simple 1?2 day roof replacement turned into a 7-day ordeal filled with delays, poor communication, and lack of accountability. There was little to no communication from the project manager or crew. Some days no one showed up; other days, work progress was minimal. The condition they left our property in was unacceptable?nails scattered throughout the yard, debris and cigarette butts left behind, creating a serious safety hazard for my family and pets. One of us even stepped on a nail. Despite repeated attempts to get answers, follow-up has been lacking. We were told management would contact us, but weeks later, nothing. The compensation offered was inadequate. This experience was frustrating, unsafe, and completely unprofessional."

"They completed the project and the roof/deck appeared satisfactorily installed to me (not a roofer). However, we have had subsequent rotting of the wood below our roof, as well as increasingly bad leaks from the roof into the home. Jeremy unfortunately appears to be most concerned with not acknowledging any fault on the part of his company. He has blamed our walls, other roofs on the home, and even stated that we dictated how the original install be done (a false statement and to me a tacit admission of his guilt). We have had multiple second opinions from other contractors and roofers who stated that the flashing around the perimeter was "substandard" and almost certainly the cause of the water intrusion. Jeremy refused to entertain this as a consideration.The company advertises a 10 year workmanship warranty, which gives the clients some peace of mind when they make a large investment (our roof was over 40k), but we have found this warranty to be essentially worthless. "

"This company is very shady and unethical. We selected them because of the price. It was substantially lower than other quotes received. The reason it was lower was because it wasn't accurate. With the dumpster in our yard, and the roofing materials delivered only then did they "discover" we also needed all new planking. We were prepared and budgeted for a $21,300 project. Suddenly we needed to come up with an additional $8,500 for the plywood. This was part of all the other roofer's quotes. When I voiced that I wanted to use another company they told me I signed a contract and they planned to enforce it. If I broke the contract I would have to give them 1/3. I had no choice but to cave. When I pressed on why this wasn't discovered until they started- they had no response. I was stuck and was forced to proceed (or walk away from $7,100). BEWARE!!! 6/25/2025"

"Patterson construction has completed 3 major projects in my Corolla NC house. Rex and his staff are professional, responsive to questions, sends photos as work progresses , and often has creative suggestions to enhance the projects. One difficult project was undertaken to prevent flooding on ground floor after severe storms. The creative solution was to raise the lower level floor height with 6 inches of concrete. Then new tile floor was added, ceiling ductwork moved to comply with code, and exterior door replaced. Doors were retro fitted, mechanics moved, and powder bath remodeled to fit change in floor. This action solved the problem of repeated water intrusion in the house. We are very pleased with Patterson Construction."
