"The flat roof over our medical office had reached the point where repairs were interfering with normal building operations. Leaks had occurred above a records room and near a staff corridor, while the roof surface contained blisters, open seams, and soft insulation around one internal drain. The building remained active throughout the week, so excessive noise, uncontrolled dust, interior access, and unexpected utility interruptions were major concerns. The contractor performed the exterior inspection and reviewed the affected interior areas after patient hours. A complete replacement was recommended because moisture extended beyond the visible openings and the existing membrane had widespread age-related deterioration. We selected a fully adhered single-ply system installed over new tapered insulation and a cover board. "I had some missing shingles that was exacerbated by a recent wind storm. Every day I seem to have more shingles on the ground than on the roof. I wasn't sure how bad the issue was, so I came on Angie's list to find a roofing professional to take a look. I decided to give Maxon a call since they're reviews indicated that they were good, and most of all, fair. I gave Mumtaz a call from my office on Thursday morning about 9am, by the afternoon he was on my roof doing an assessment. I wasn't at home at the time, so he sent me pictures and gave me an estimate. I felt comfortable with price he quoted, so I asked him if he could start the next day, which he was able accommodate. He said that they'd start at 8:30am, and at 8:30am he was at my door. The job was initially for the shingles, but he included a slew of extras (some I requested, some I didn't) for only a little more. They not only fix the many missing shingles, but did a full check of the entire roof and secured portions in need of attention. They cleaned out my gutters and affix them securely to the roof as the last roofing contractors did a poor job in this area. They noticed cracking in my chimney and addressed the most problematic crack, but he advised that I should address the full chimney in the near future. He also had his guys seal some other areas for me (not on the roof) free of charge. The thing that I respect the most about Mumtaz is his honesty. He checked my garage roof after I mentioned an issue with a tree's limbs causing damage. Although he gave me a quote for the work with the tree and roof, he was honest and said that I'd have the same problem next year, and not to spend the money to fix the roof until I address the entire tree. Most contractors would have taken the money and wait for my call again in a year. He also was honest about other aspects of the condition of my roof and chimney, which makes me confident to trust his word. Finding honest good contractors isn't easy, so I'm glad that I can vouch for this company, to help others have as good experience as I did."

"My bathroom remodeling experience was unexpectedly pleasant, and I owe a great deal of gratitude to the guys from Score Construction. I had a rough idea going in of what I wanted my mother's new bathroom to look like, but it was mostly just conjecture and hand-waving, needless to note I'm the type of guy who needs a gal that's mechanically inclined, because I'm far from it. Before starting the project, I had three contractors come and take a look at the bathroom (I also had two contractors who could only give me quotes over the phone, they were cheaper than the quotes I received in person, and I think it's very obvious why). They were all very professional in their conduct, but what set SCORE apart from the rest was their willingness to hear me out. I drew diagrams of what I wanted the bathroom to look like, and SCORE (in particular Janusz, though his partner was commendable as well) took the time to analyze my thoughts line by line. For my wishes that were feasible, they explained exactly how they would accomplish it, and for some of my ideas that were either too expensive or impossible considering the layout of the bathroom, they suggested revisions that were in line with the overall design (her bathroom is roughly 100 sq ft, so there was ample space for design). My only complaint about the other contractors was that they did not respect my ideas enough, not that they were rude in any way, but it felt to me as if the design was already established according to their desires, and it was me that was going to have to come around to their way of thinking. Admittedly, I have no design experience, but this is my project and my money so I figured that the hired hands should be a little understanding when it comes to my wishes. The guys at SCORE were more than understanding, and it showed itself in the final product. Once all the preliminaries were settled, the actual construction began and it was completed in two weeks. They adjusted their work schedule around my availability (if I was free and let them work straight w/o any days off I imagine it would have been done much sooner).
