He and his crew put in more than a full days work staying late to finish the job. His price was very fair and I would definitely hire him again. "It was the best experience I’ve had in general contracting. I just bought a new house and I needed a fence to be able to move because of huge dogs. They worked with me to get the fence done asap as they understood my situation. I had 4 ft aluminum installed off of my front porch and 5ft chain link around the entire back porch and backyard. I had 6 gates installed in total. All different sizes and most had to be built by Brian to fit grade of yard. They took all of my suggestions and then added to them to make my fences as safe and secure as possible. They are super dog friendly which made everything easy for me. They installed taller panels above my walls attached to house to further prevent my dogs from getting out and anything else from getting in. And we also decided that instead of replacing short railing of back porch to just fence it in with 4 ft chain link right into yard. "Decks Decks Decks built my 8’ x 22’ wood deck in September 2019. The deck is extremely well-constructed and feels extremely solid. The craftsmanship is also excellent. They took time to notch all the posts and also put a lovely perpendicular board in the middle of the flooring where the 16’ boards meet the 6’ boards. It’s a really attractive feature and makes the deck stand out. They were very good at communicating and more than happy to have input about the design of the deck throughout the process. They always asked how I would prefer something to be when there was more than one option. I also had a slightly complicated situation as some of the panels on the back of my house above the deck needed to be replaced due to previous water damage, and Decks Decks Decks brought in a master carpenter to do the work. The repaired area looks even better than it did before. They took care of all the paperwork with the borough and arranged for all the inspections, which I appreciated since I certainly didn’t know what was required. "This was my third time working with this contractor and each project was a pleasurable experience! As was the case with the other two, they started this project on time and finished on time! All the work was done according to strict Mount Lebanon code. They made suggestions based upon their experience i.e we wanted a six foot high shadow box fence but while Mount Lebanon code allows for a six foot high privacy fence of just about any style, they do not allow, by code, a six foot high shadowbox fence. Steve Hilpert proceeded to build us a 4 foot high shadowbox fence (the maximum height allowed by code) with a custom built 2 foot high trellis section which Mount Lebanon subsequently approved. The fence looks beautiful!
I was nervous about cutting a big hole in the wall of our addition to install the sliding glass door. Now the door looks like it has been there all along! It came out PERFECTLY!
The deck is also beautiful and solid as a rock! We had an issue with the location of our two central air conditioning units off the back of the house. The other contractors (which I found here on Angie's List as well) said they would just build over these units. Not knowing anything about central air conditioning this seemed reasonable to me. Steve was the ONLY contractor who told me that you absolutely CAN NOT block the air flow above the units! Not only that, he was honest enough to tell me that moving the units should be done by a qualified HVAC contractor. Now that is a contractor you can trust!
All work was completed on time and within budget. The same crew arrived early each day and were polite and professional. The job site was spotless at the end of each day!

"Very well.  Rick and his lead carpenter gave me some excellent advice on re-designing the trusses for the project, and were very prompt and professional.  I elected not to go forward with project at this time because the bids for it all came in too high and I decided to scale the project down and pursue bids on the re-design at a later date.
