"I've used Raecon Plumbing many times over the years. They are always very knowledgeable, and competitive price wise vs. other companies. Services I've used include water heater replacement , tub and shower remodeling, sewer clogs, drain replacements on sinks and toilets. Other drain lines buried both under my house and in the ground outside. I recommend to my friends and family as I'm a firm believer that once you find someone you can trust you don't need to look elsewhere."

"I am very happy about my experience with E&K plumbing. Ethan was able to come out on very short notice to help with my plumbing emergency. He came in and quickly assessed the problem. He did an excellent and speedy job fixing it better than when it was new. I was also very happy that I wasn't charged an outrageous amount like most specialists do. I have found my new plumber, and I definitely recommend them to anyone who needs plumbing help."

"Talk about some great people. Had Joe do a sort of emergency job on Friday. The Cranberry water issue struck with a pin hole leak on my main supply line. While taking down ceiling tiles, I discovered the whole line had many green spots. He quickly fixed 20 feet of bad line with Pex lines and we are now back in business. Super nice and a great worker. Great price for the work with such short notice. Thanks, Reynolds Plumbing is on my list for all my plumbing needs!"

"Frank does good work and is honest. It is just him doing the work and taking calls and not a fleet of plumbers behind a front desk. He is a master plumber and his prices reflect that experience. He is responsive and gave me a quote before doing the work. I have also since contacted him about additional plumbing related questions and he was able to help guide me toward contacting the county about my sanitary sewer test records. He was under no obligation to help me, but he did so anyway. Unfortunately the work that I need done may require snaking a camera which is equipment that Frank does not have."

"They are excellent, I have been using them for my plumbing work for the last 10 years. They have installed a gas water heater along with a chimney line preventing of the gas lighter heater and Changed filter on whole house filter and reverse osmosis filter and installed new faucet on basement sink. They come regularly to change filters as need. They provided excellent plumbing advise. I recommend them whole heartedly."

"We had 5 bathroom sink faucets replaced. We pre-purchased the faucets. He showed on time and explained the process and then got to work. He also replaced a mixer filter in a shower that was having issues. Saved us from having to cut hole in wall to expose plumbing & then replacing whole shower system. Would hire again."

"McVay Plumbing was excellent to work with. Great experience with the people from the office who were helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. I don't think anyone ever wants to need a plumber three times in one week (particularly when two of the jobs are large scale, and one of the problems was causing significant damage), but we were happy to have an expert in the field assisting us in resolving all of these issues. The large jobs (sewer line repair, gas line repair) were scheduled quickly, which was very important to us due to closing on our former house. The people in the office knew a lot about the process for lateral/dye testing in my municipality and had contacts at the water company which helped to expedite the process. Everything went smoothly in the repair of the sewer line and re-inspection as well, and there was good communication throughout. When we found ourselves in a bad situation at our NEW house (with a sewage back-up) on a Sunday, Mike was able to get us someone from his team to come out ASAP to resolve that issue as well. He even offered to connect us to another plumber in the area if they'd be able to make it out to us faster than he could, due to the type of issue/water damage involved. I appreciated that kind of honesty, though in the end McVay was able to come soonest anyway. I would definitely use their services again and would highly recommend them."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Cranberry Township, PA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
