"Mike came out to assess for a free estimate. I had these repairs done before many years ago and his estimate a very fair estimate so I had him do the repairs on the spot. He spent a long time replacing the springs but also reinforcing the doors and making sure they operated correctly. My motors are old and when they stop, I will use 911 Garage Doors to replace e them. "Through Angie's List I  bought 2 ."Deals", the $39 Garage Door Tune Up.-- one for each door with auto-mechanism.  At first there was  a glitch with J&W  not receiving the  message from Angie's List Message Board, but when  I contacted them from my personal email, they resopnded immediately and  sent a tech out the same day.  This is the first time I ever had my own garage and the tech patiently taught me all about garage doors: servicing, balancing, how to make the motors last, programming the outside codes, how to change the bulbs in the motors, the safety features, security features,  and  how to operate the doors manually.  (For those of you who have had garage doors for many years I know it sounds lame that I didn't know how to do all that but we all start somewhere when we learn )The garage doors had been kind of noisy and clangy and wobbly (this is a pre-owned home). When he was finished  with the tune up the difference was amazing!  Both doors now  operate smoothly and quietly after he tightened here, and loosened there, and lubricated etc.  He recommended a strut be placed on the one door to stabiize it and reduce stress on the expensive motor so I will be calling them back to do that. <br />"

"Monty was great. Came out within a day or two to give me a surprising low estimate, and returned a couple of days later to do the work. It was a complicated job because it involved structural elements. Monty clearly knows what he's doing and takes pride in his work. He ended up doing more than I'd asked for on his own initiative at no extra charge. My house is close to a hundred years old, so I am experienced in getting work done. I can't imagine that this work could have been done better, or cheaper by anyone else. Plus he seems like a nice guy. Hire him, you won't be sorry."

"The replacement went fine. The work was professional and at the agreed time. I was pleased with that. My only issue was with the charges. I had found the mechanism online priced at $108 (with $13 shipping). It would have arrived after my desired time frame, so I expected the locksmith would have a local resource from which to purchase at a wholesale price in a more timely manner. I expected that price to be about $60; certainly less than $100. However, I was told the locksmith paid $179! This didn't seem reasonable. Also, I did not receive an itemized receipt, only a total. After expecting to pay perhaps $150, I was actually charged almost TWICE that. So although I was happy with the work, I was certainly not happy with the price."
