Mr. Bugg’s Pest Patrol, Inc. was established in 1980 and started as a one man business. Over the past 36 years we have grown to 29 employees but maintain our original goal, to make each customer our top priority. David Kellis, the owner, believes in treating everyone with integrity and respect and has gone to great lengths to instill this philosophy throughout the company. The pest control industry recognized this attribute by electing David as the President of the Alabama Pest Control Association in 2005. The company’s General Manager, Susan Taylor, was recognized as continuing this tradition when the Association voted her the President 2015. We always embrace green technology in the use of any pesticides. Whether we are utilizing baits, residuals or some type of trapping program. Some of the brand name products or systems we use, you may recognize such as: Sentricon, Termidor, Arilon, Top Choice, Suspend, Demon, Tempo, etc. We believe that it is most beneficial to our customers to be as diversified as possible in the ongoing battle against pests. Our goal is to free up our customers’ time and manpower by taking care of their pest control needs as well as providing peace of mind by knowing a licensed company with ongoing training is at their service. Locally owned & operated, bonded & insured. Online payment options available. Additional email - contact@mrbuggs.com. Award winning.
"I have been using Mr. Buggs for 3 years for pest control and have been very pleased. I was using another company for my yard, trugreen, and they were horrible. They basically killed my $10,000 lawn. I decided since the pest control was spot on, I would give the lawn service a try. I met with the gentleman and had a laundry list of concerns about my lawn. I waited patiently, because of all the rain, and sure enough he showed up in a timely manner and remembered everything I said and had a plan for it. It truly is great customer service with a feeling that you matter and are not just another dollar sign."

The Aardwolf is a member of the Hyena family and lives in the plains and open woodland of eastern and southern Africa. It weights between fifteen and thirty-one pounds and feeds primarily on termites, which it hunts at night. The aardwolf's keen hearing helps it locate termites, and its long, sticky tongue licks them right up. Most hyenas have strong teeth and jaws and can eat and digest flesh and bone, but the aardwolf's stubby molars can't chew meat and its jaw is too weak to eat anything other than bugs. Aardwolves are also unlike members of the hyena family in that they forage alone. Aardwolves live in their own burrows or in dens abandoned by other animals. On sunny days they spend most of the morning lying outside, but when it's rainy they might stay in their dens the entire day.

Most standard homeowners' insurance policies do not cover termite damage repairs because insurers consider these issues preventable through regular maintenance. Insurance often excludes damage from pests, rot, and gradual deterioration. Some companies offer specialized coverage options or riders, but you'll need to review your policy details carefully. Many homeowners opt for termite bonds or service contracts as alternative protection methods.
The timeline for termite damage repairs varies with project scope. Minor cosmetic fixes require only one to two days for completion. Most medium-sized repairs to non-structural elements take three to five days. Major structural repairs involving support beams or extensive flooring can extend to one to two weeks or longer. Factors affecting the timeline include damage extent, material availability, and whether additional issues like moisture problems need addressing simultaneously.
Purchasing a home with termite damage can be viable if the issues are clearly identified, properly assessed, and factored into negotiations. A comprehensive professional inspection is essential to determine repair costs and confirm termite elimination. Minor damage with appropriate price adjustments may represent a good value opportunity. However, extensive structural damage or sellers unwilling to address active infestations should raise serious concerns about the investment's wisdom.
Common termite damage indicators include hollow-sounding wood when tapped, maze-like patterns within wooden structures, buckling paint or wallpaper, sagging floors, and visible mud tubes along foundations or walls. You might also notice discarded wings near doors or windows, small pinholes in drywall, or crumbling wood. Professional inspection is recommended to confirm suspicions, as many termite damage signs resemble other issues like water damage or everyday wear.
