The repair attempt was done improperly and caused additional buckling and damage to the floor beyond the original issue. The replacement boards were provided by me and were from the same lot as the original floor and had been acclimated in the home prior to installation. Only after the damage was made worse did he state that the concrete slab underneath was ?wet? and that special cement and sealing would be required. This is a 20-year-old home with the slab elevated above ground, and the buckling was localized to one area of the room, not widespread. Two other contractors later inspected the issue and told me this explanation and repair approach were not accurate.
