I have a vented propane Lopi fireplace in my master bedroom that has had an “Arctic blast” cold draft coming through the top and sides of the unit since installation in 2020. On a cold night when running the unit it barely got above 61 degrees F . I purchased it for supplemental heat and running it only wasted propane. I had JR Bolton , the company I purchased it from come to troubleshoot. He checked the caulking on vent on roof and said it was Ok. No other definitive solution offered. Not willing to accept defeat I decided to research it myself & came up with what I was hoping would be a solution. Rob made my idea work perfectly. He removed a small piece of drywall above the fireplace, crawled inside & insulated the entire back cavity wall, top to bottom with Rockwool. This included a gaping hole that had been left around the air exchanger vent . The drywall repair and painting was done perfectly. Fireplace now heats like a charm"
