We hired this company to fix cracks in 2 walls and several cracks in our ceilings, fixing a dip in an area of the ceiling, along with repainting, replastering and painting a hallway bathroom, repainting all of our baseboards and doors. The job was estimated to take 4-5 days. Our home is 1400sq ft. 16 days later the job was ?completed?, though not to our satisfaction. Although they did try, the job was completed with a portion of the bathroom wall not painted because there was silicone caulking which they would not prime or remove unless they re-quoted the job, and because paint on doors was not sanded down- they stick and stripped off the new paint on 2 occasions. See photos of the ?finished job?. Would this be acceptable to you after paying thousands of dollars?"

High-quality work combined with proper care ensures that drywall performs reliably for decades. Factors such as moisture, fire exposure, and physical damage can affect its lifespan, so regular inspections and timely repairs are essential for extending durability.
You don't need a permit to replace drywall if you're just swapping out old panels without making any structural changes. If you're keeping the wall positions the same and not moving any electrical or plumbing, you can go ahead without a permit. However, if your project involves adding or removing walls or altering the home's infrastructure, you'll likely need to get a permit, which can add $50 to $150 to your costs. It's always a good idea to check with your local building department to make sure you're following the rules.
