"Completely useless visit. I requested a water softener repair. The technician tested the water and discovered that it was hard (I knew this already because the water softener wasn't working). He pushed buttons on the control valve of the water softener and discovered that it wasn't working (I already knew this). They couldn't repair the water softener because it wasn't "their" equipment (brand and model was noted in the repair request, so they presumably already knew they wouldn't be able to repair, but came anyway). The technician volunteered to send a plumber and a sales consultant. Don't waste your $98 on Aquarius. This company is a complete scam. "

"Working with the team from Go Electric was definitely a 5 star experience! I was looking to upgrade the service panel on a 120 year old house from 100 amps to 200 amps in order to convert to appliances from gas to electric. I have a breathing condition that is worsened by the fumes of gas combustion. The quote was fully explained. The change in the panel would also require outside work to the mast and connection to power in order to meet safety codes. Not only was quote from GO almost 3K less than other quotes for the same work, but Brandon informed me that the work would qualify for a $1500 rebate from the energy provider AND GO would help me with getting the paperwork done for that. Installation was equally smooth and stress free with power being out no longer than was explained to me. Adam and his team are real pros and they deliver great work. Inspection was completed in a week with no faults found. I strongly recommend this business for electrical work. Chris A. St Paul"

Small jobs welcome

"We called this company because several basement outlets suddenly lost power and we could not locate the GFCI outlet ourselves. The technician came out, located the GFCI, reset it, and that was the only work performed. No repairs, no parts replaced, and no additional troubleshooting. We were then charged $285 for this, which was shocking given the simplicity and length of the visit. At no point before starting did the technician explain the pricing or get our approval for the cost. Only after questioning the charge did he lower it to $235, which is still extremely excessive for a task that took just a few minutes. This felt misleading and predatory. If pricing had been disclosed upfront, we would not have agreed to the service. Be very cautious and insist on clear pricing before any work begins."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Delano, MN

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
