With the stress of trying to figure out what to do, timing, and costs we found Kevin. Kevin came to the house to look at the bathroom and listen to our concerns, hopes, wants, and needs. Kevin did a great job listening and asking clarifying questions to ensure he understood us. Kevin left and a few days later emailed us a new floor plan and design for the bathroom. He called to discuss the new design and answered questions. He did a great job describing why he designed the bathroom the way he did. We were very happy with Kevin’s work and moved forward with the project. Kevin was able to design the entire bathroom to make it look modern, reuse a lot of what we had, and make it more open and flow much better. I would and will hands down hire Kevin again for any other house projects. Highly recommend!"

"I hired Paramount back in 2020 for work on the first floor and appreciated their work so much that I brought them back for the basement (fix/ update after mold repair) and second floor (bathroom and stairs update, new carpet). Like the first time, I really appreciated Ryan's suggestions on style and options, and the various contractors were professional and very kind about working around me and the cats. Ryan was ultimately more critical than me about details and appreciate that desire to do things right and as clean as possible. Would use again!... although that would require a new house at this point. 😁"

"Unfortunately, our experience with Dan was about as bad as it could be. We were given a timeline of 5 weeks in mid February and, after months of ignored emails, finally received drawings in mid-June, 17 weeks later. Once submitted for permitting, the county realized that the snow load information was incorrect and rejected the plans. Frustrating to say the least. In discussing the requisite changes over the phone, Dan seemed unaware of fairly standard industry terms in residential construction (rake wall, difference between ceiling joist and roof rafter, cut roof vs truss, etc) which made us uncomfortable, to say the least. Keep in mind, this is after months of radio silence and considering we'd have to start from scratch with another engineer. Things were discussed three, four times and necessary changes still not made. Fortunately we work with our building department a lot, and these can be addressed in the field. I understand that delays happen. I understand that things can get complicated, often quickly. That said, I expect a level of professionalism, communication, and competence when paying someone for their service. You're a smart consumer and will do as you wish, but we will never, under any circumstance, be using Dan and J2.26 Engineering ever again."

"Over 7 weeks AND 13 visits, we were intermittently subjected to gas leaks, water leaks, no hot water or heat and error codes on our tankless water heater. They took advantage of the fact that my 2 teenagers and I had no hot water and no heat and continuously up-charged us. During that time, they charged an extra $1900 over the original estimate of $4000. All of the issues were because they failed to recognize that my existing venting didn’t match the new unit (even though they added to the venting) and because they didn’t provide drain piping to manufacture recommendations. They offered me money back and then rescinded the offer as the problems they should have caught just continued. I ended up “chatting” with the manufacturer and showing them screenshots to prove the venting was wrong. They offered a cleaning crew after I complained and already cleaned up the mess they ground into the carpet. When I asked to speak to the owner/DORA license holder, Levi Torres, I was told Levi “doesn’t take phone calls”. Clearly, he only takes your money and wastes your time."
