"I had received quotes from 4 different providers.  The Flyin' Squirrel provided the lowest-cost estimate (by far) and could do the work within one week from the time that I contacted him.  On the day of service, Dan (the owner) and 2 other crew members completed the removal of a large maple and a small-medium elm (and hauled off all debris).  I was so impressed with how quickly they worked and the relative low cost that I asked him to quote another tree in the yard.  He provided another low-cost estimate for that tree and was able to come back by the end of the following week to remove it.  Dan does not do stump removal himself, but gave my contact information to a stump removal guy who removed the large stump for $125.

"I was very protective of how much limbing had to be done. We had some sick branches up high and we were concerned about loosing the tree altogether at some point. "The work went well and was speedy.  The owner used about a five to seven man crew.  He used a lift crane to cut branches down and lowered them with ropes to his team.  His team used used a powerful wood chipper to handle the branches and saws to cut limbs into manageable sizes.  They also hauled away the trunk of the tree on a flatbed truck.  
Clean Up: They laid plywood under their equipment that was on our grass to keep the grass from being damaged.  They also swept up the street and grabbed lose debris that was in our yard from the tree. 
Sidenote: The tree was about three feet from our home so I was especially concerned about roof damage but the crew took great care not to damage our house.
