"Extremely Knowledgeable about Concrete! I requested a quote for epoxying my concrete garage floor. When Rick arrived and saw the cracking and raising in my floor, he assessed that epoxy might not be the best application for me and proposed staining as an alternative. Rick’s extensive knowledge of concrete clearly stood out from that of the other contractors. On the days of the application, Rick and his team arrived on time and worked efficiently to complete the project. I’m very happy with the garage floor and plan to use Griego Brothers Concrete to redo my back patio, create a new walkway, and repair a retaining wall. "

"Danny came out promptly to give a quote. It was reasonable and we scheduled a time. Little mixup with concrete provider because of a holiday so project was moved from Saturday to Monday (no big deal). Showed up on Monday and quickly got forms up and poured. Looks great and will save me a lot of driveway jockeying in the future. Would use Mountain Views again!"

"He was really professional. Told me exactly what he was going to do and broke the invoice down and showed me exactly where my money was going. He was on time got the job done exactly how he said he was going to. Cleaned up after the job was done and left my place better then when he got there. I will be using him for other projects in the future. Highly recommend him and his crew. "

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Divide, CO

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
