"The work went great. Got an almost immediate estimate, and a specific date for the job to be done. David was super-knowledgeable and helpful right from the start. He told us about the option of our painting the sides of cabinets (instead of refacing them) and just having the matching new doors put on. This worked well for us and we really appreciated this less-expensive option. He did the installation exactly when he said he would, and our "re-doored" cabinets look fantastic! "We had a difficult space and some very strong opinions on what we wanted. We were originally going to design the kitchen ourselves but decided to reach out to Village for a quote. Jane Scammon went very far out of her way to design a kitchen that perfectly suited our needs. Jane payed close attention to the details that we felt were important for to make the space perfect for us, while very gently steering us away from several major mistakes that we would have made on our own. She was always there when we had questions and made a fairly complex kitchen design go off without a hitch. She was very flexible and even helped us integrate our floor, counter and lighting options with the cabinet design. We weren’t quite ready to install when the cabinets arrived, so Village had kept them in climate controlled storage for several days. They also helped us get our hands on specialty install tools and offered a slew of installation tips that made the cabinet install go very smoothly. The price was competitive for semi-custom cabinets. The cabinets themselves are well made, sturdy, and seem like they will last. The hinges and drawer slides are far superior to any others we’ve seen; removing and adjusting the drawers and cabinet doors is a breeze. Everything that was delivered – cabinets, crown molding, end panels, toe kicks – all showed up in perfect condition, square and well-painted. The only exception was one door that was slightly warped (reasonable for a door that size), and Jane took care of that for us immediately. We’re thrilled with our new kitchen. The new design lends itself to a much more efficient and natural user flow and significantly better use of space. Jane was able to design the cabinets and trim in a way that is far more beautiful than we had imagined."
